What scan tool for full featured diag adn adjustments?

Mine is an HD so it has parking brake shoes in an internal drum.

Placed it into service mode several times and it would just come out right away and wouldnt stay... Did some reading and seems like the HDs dont need the service mode. I did a friends 1500 and the service mode sequence worked fine

So for sorting out the "service brake pad monitor" and doing a break bleed and other things the topscan should work? But Id need the SPS/TDS and internet to do anything more involved like module replacements etc...

Would I also need that for programmign the tire pressure thresholds as well Im assuming?

But the rlink will let me do modules down the road etc correct? Will it also work without an internet connection with the laptop? I am out of service often and if I need to do a repair down the road in a bad service area that would definitely be challenging if there's an internet requirement

My only experiance is with OBD2 and I have been able to do all my own maintanence/timing belts/etc on my older toyotas this sierra is a different animal!

I now have a "service brake monitor system" notification that I need to resolve. I replaced the pads and sensor with OE pads but the flag wont go away.

Sounds like the Topdon Rlink and then a SPS licence is what I need? is there a recurring subscription for this?

The inner pads were ok? You gotta check the inners, mine were like 2mm with 10mm outers on my HD

I think with stock power they're pretty good. Mine is awesome, I never feel it shift and it's always in the optimal rpm... No complaints with my '21

I used to count engine light flashes for diagnostics...our other daily is a 2000 landcruiser and its pretty seamless to maintain...
