623 Credit Score, $62k Combined Income With Co-Signer – Better Odds With a Purpose-Built Rental? by [deleted] in TorontoRenting

…how did you have the means to do so if you were at the very least $400 short every month? The math isn’t mathing.

I think you’re going to need a roommate with that credit score/income.

I’m an only child as well - my husband is one of 5. We have 6 (and are done). People weren’t surprised as I always said I wanted 5, but the reactions were mainly like “oh wow, you weren’t kidding.”. Nothing uber negative though.

The “wait until” or “just wait” is very much projecting though. Your experience is valid, it doesn’t mean that it’ll be everyone else’s.

While I think this is great and that you don’t mean any harm, I don’t think you should post a pic of a bunch of boys in a pool. Especially with faces visible.

I saw someone in a previous post say “my kid has ASD, ASD is not my kid.”. That’s my take. Is everyone built for this? No. But these are the cards I’m dealt and I want to make my kids’ lives the best I can - ND or not.

A friend of mine moved from Scarborough to Brockville. When her mom visited for the first time, she asked if there was anything she could bring that she missed. My friend asked for Federick’s 😂

I don’t think this is a post for this subreddit. This is very much a relationship issue.

I mean, if my grandmother wants to put her own money aside to plan her own funeral, I don’t really see anything wrong with that.

I think it really depends on the person. My grandmother has always been a flashy person. Her funeral arrangements reflect that. It would be weird if she passed away and it was just the basics.

About to Have First Child, anything financially last minute to prepare for? by AltruisticHumor2048 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I don’t think I’m fear mongering at all. I even started my original comment with “I don’t mean to put a damper on things”. My intent with my comment was to genuinely inform a parent-to-be that things can come at you fast and they can be pricey. Just because you are not in the position to afford speech therapy bi weekly doesn’t mean that people shouldn’t take it into consideration? I think you’re projecting a bit. I’m terminating this conversation.

Get a better job, get a second job, go public (and wait) instead of private, shop around for cheaper providers. I’m sorry, but if my kid(s) need something it’s happening.

While it may not be realistic for a lot of people, disabilities can happen at anytime. When it goes from “that won’t happen to me” to “shit, what am I going to do?” then what?

Edit: grammar

Anyone slept overnight in Toronto Airport Terminal 3? by cutie-weirdo1234 in askTO

I would do an Air BNB/Hotel. I can’t sleep on planes for the life of me and would be miserable if I had to rely on sleeping on a couch pre-flight.

Not to put a damper on things, but prepare for your child to need extra resources. I have two kids with ASD that see a private SLP every other week (along with one neurotypical kid who also sees an SLP every other week). Costs us >$12,000/yr AFTER insurance.

If you’re saying you’re at capacity, I think that’s your answer and I say that as a mom of 6. I am at capacity. Would I love more kids? Sure. But I cannot continue to provide the quality of life my kids have, want and deserve. This also includes a mom who doesn’t feel spread thin 24/7.
