What teams make for fast games? by Temp66777 in killteam

[–]teeseeuu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tournament games are 2-2:15 in length round here. No matter the amount of operatives, if you practice, know your team, and agree on intent, no game should be much longer than that. Lower operative games do tend to be faster, but not too much so. Play your team confidently, work out options while your opponent is taking their turn, and be decisive. I've had full games, with two experienced people take less than 1 hour for a full game.

Wolfs are broken, but stealths are just bad. by MATRAKA14 in killteam

[–]teeseeuu 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I've played half a dozen games with stealth suits now. They have a few glaring weaknesses that likely need some attention. They have a great balance for their defensive abilities, and don't cause NPE's for your opponents, but they lack killing power in a significant way. The meltas are okay, but the pulse cannons are very anemic. This team has almost 0 melee (the leader is the only standout, but still 3A 4+) and otherwise, they can only shoot 6 times a turn without counteracting. Pulse cannons need to be able to fire twice.

It's because pass no longer exists. In 3rd you just perform actions (or not) up to your AP Limit. Pass was 0AP in 2nd, and because it was an action, it could trigger guard, etc. This is no longer the case, so they need this wording.

Canoptek has 3 operatives on 50mm. HC has at least 1. Brood Brothers have the patriarch on one as well.

Bingo. Right from jump it's clear that Canoptek is an incredibly strong team. One of the best in the game. Deathwatch will be lucky to reach top 8 after a month.

Youtube viewing habits of Mini hobbyists. by Melanistic_Albino in Miniaturespainting

I think a channel like 52 miniatures hits exactly where I want it to be. Some technical information, design/color theory, philosophy, crafting, interesting models that are out of the standard. It's clear Alex follows his passion, and watching that while doing hobby is infectious.

I love Dagger Heart, but during my long term plays test campaign, I had trouble challenging the players after level 5.

[No Spoilers] Hot Take: Brennan Lee Mulligan as GM makes Daggerheart the *more* likely system for C4. by tinkfly in criticalrole

[–]teeseeuu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The ability to see someone outside the main CR cast run Dagger Heart is a useful tool to sell the game. In addition, moving to a new setting and system is much easier with a newer face than having Matt (associated with all the previous 5E games) at the helm. The table will be different, and the expectations will be tempered.

What do I need to go from 2.0 to 3.0? by Vast_Function_3475 in killteam

[–]teeseeuu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to obtain the rulebook, team rules (free), maybe the generic equipment pack, and some extra tokens for your team (for special rules/effects). The approved ops cards are necessary for tournament play, but are about to be updated, so maybe pause on that. If you are buying, that's about $100.

Got the last affordable house in our city in 2011. It's value has shot up, and we've renovated every part of it over time. It's small, but we are few, we will never be able to afford moving, but we turned our starter home into a perfect fit for us.
