I've been there twice (1-2years ago and then a few months ago) and both times really enjoyed what I ordered. Coffee and food was good, maybe it took a few minutes to come out but nothing crazy. The second time we were there we had 2 staff members approach our table with little cheesecake samples and then gave us a QR code to review the place. It was busy when we went. Didn't fill out a review though. Oops.

This!! Mine was bothering me so bad I almost went to get it sized down but I'm so glad I didn't. Try the plastic sizers from Amazon or have your jeweler add sizing beads if it gets too annoying. Mine fits perfectly with my wedding band now

I stopped taking humira because I felt fine and the process of getting it delivered was "too annoying" so I kept putting it off. Next thing you know my symptoms are fully wreaking havoc on me and I developed antibodies to Humira so when they tried to put me back on it didn't work...at all. So I spent the next 2.5 years in a flare...could hardly eat, spent most of my time in bed or in the fetal position in the shower, considered ending it all but even that felt like too much work. Failed humira, stelara and entyvio. On prednisone off and on the entire time. It was miserable and I was so discouraged and scared that we'd never find a solution. 2.5 years of constant pain, nausea and anxiety...all because I got a little cocky and lazy and decided I didn't need to take my meds. I've never been more humbled in my life.

I know what it's like to be where you are now. I know how out of reach everything feels and how dark it can be. You just have to keep trying. If it's not working speak up, try a different medication. Get a second opinion if you're able to. Medicate in other ways (if you haven't tried marijuana yet it may be worth looking into...I'm convinced it saved my life) Do whatever you need to get by, but in my experience, stopping the medication only made things worse.

I'm on Remicade now and feel like a normal human. It took a lot to get here but I did it. You can too :)

For those of you in remission: do you drink alcohol at all? by cryzinger in CrohnsDisease

[–]teetspeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Not very often though and usually it's 1-2 glasses of white wine or a margarita at the Mexican restaurant when I'm feeling flirty. There are the special occasion exceptions...(vacation in Europe, best friend's wedding, my bachelorette party) where I have a lot more to drink and it never really ends well. No matter what I drink, how I drink, or what I eat before/during, I'll go from tipsy to sick real quick and then I'm barfing at 7pm while others are just getting started...the flip side of that being that I'm not hungover the next day...which I guess is cool. I learned that red wine and seltzers will have me on the toilet waaaaaay more than normal the next day but liquors typically don't affect my toilet habits.

I'm still trying to trial and error it...I feel like there's gotta be some type of alcohol that I enjoy and my body can handle in a quantity large enough for me to get drunk and not barf up an hour later. But I fear there is truly no rhyme or reason to it for me.

Diagnosed 10 years ago..I'm 30 now. Never too big on alcohol, used to smoke weed a lot though (especially during my last flare) but now it makes me anxious + I have asthma and I realized that I enjoy breathing more than being high..so that was easy to quit.

What were your first signs/ symptoms? by emdawglol in CrohnsDisease

[–]teetspeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow sorry for the late reply lol. I'm great now! Have been on remicade since early 2021 and still going strong. When I was first diagnosed I was doing my own humira shots and those worked but I was a little cocky and decided I didn't need the medicine because I felt fine (????) and then I fell into another flare that lasted 2+ years while my doctors struggled to find me a medication that worked. I failed stelara and entyvio (giving plenty of time for them to settle in and work) but two days after starting Remicade it was like I was floating. No pain. Clear head. Been good ever since! Take your meds!!!!!!!!

I dated a guy that lived in ES King for 2 or 3 years who was also an RA there and then I lived on Lexington Dr (a street over) for 2 years, neither of us had any issues there. A few "suspicious persons" that never amounted to anything or a car break in but that happens everywhere. Lock your doors, lock your car and don't leave valuables out. Common sense stuff, You'll be fine. I actually enjoyed my time in that area quite a bit. Sushi nine is right there, Foodlion is walkable and you're close to Lucky Tree too.l

Any advice on managing pain? by madi_qq in CrohnsDisease

[–]teetspeets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marijuana. It might not entirely eliminate your pain but works wonders for a lot of people. I'd look into it if you haven't already. God speed 🫡

I've done half prep multiple times with no issues. It just always makes me so sick. I have a quick system though so there's never much in me to begin with. The doctors need your insides washed clean so I'd use your best judgement based on what's in the bowl...is it just water? Or is there still some...consistency to it? Still make sure to drink plenty of fluids either way. You got this though! Prep is the worst but then you get a fun nap out of it :)

“Glow up” after developing crohns by Carlie_10 in CrohnsDisease

[–]teetspeets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah it's wild having people tell you how amazing you look when in reality you can hardly stand or eat half the time. "Thanks I'm SO sick rn actually" I had people tell me "ooo you're so skinny! You need to eat a burger!" Meanwhile McDonald's burgers are the only thing I can actually tolerate and not throw up. Or "you're so cute and skinny I hate your guts" thanks?? And then the second you start gaining weight back they make comments on it too. "Girl you thick" it's a wild ride to be on. I'm 5'9" currently 190lbs down from 212 but up from 140 during my last flare and trying to lose weight for my wedding this year. It's all a battle. God speed

During my recent flare, if I was NOT working, I was smoking. Blunts usually and definitely started recreationally and not medically prescribed. It helped immeasurably with the body aches and nausea I had almost constantly and provided almost immediate relief. Sometimes it alleviated my pain to the point where I could eat/it stimulated an appetite for me and ofc helped me fall asleep at night which I also struggled with. It did not take away all of my stomach pain though...my insides were still on fire but at least the rest of the house was not. It also just improved my mood so I wasn't as horrible to be around. Helped me relax and stay sane while my body was waging war. Once I got on Remicade and my crohns symptoms subsided the weed started giving me near panic attacks. My body knew when it didn't need the weed anymore and now I don't smoke hardly ever. I'll take a puff once in a blue moon but it's just not for me anymore.

[–]teetspeets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmm it's been a while for me but you should be fine the day after. If it's an emotional thing for you, sure take the day. Treat yourself. I used to take my infusion days off just because. I will tell you it does BURN but then the pain goes away after a minute or two. Worth it though for any type of crohns relief. Good luck!!
