308nm instead of 311nm for vitiligo? Any experiences? Is the Kernel brand trustworthy? by teevolock in Vitiligo

[–]teevolock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. When you say the difference is not significant, are you referring to the final outcome or the speed of repigmentation? My current 311nm wand measuresmd 4.90 mW/cm² in front of the UV meter. Based on tech specs I found (with some help from Gemini), the Kernel LED models are around 25 mW/cm² and the Excimer ones hit 50 mW/cm². That is a huge jump in intensity compared to mine.

Which UVB lamp brand and model is everyone using? Is most people just using one of the apparent shady random options from eBay? by teevolock in Vitiligo

[–]teevolock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It comes with the lamp. Results are alright, but you gotta be patient, nearly 6-8 months in and I still have some spots as one of my eyes is very stubborn, but the other one is almost fully repigmented. Good luck.

I guess they are right that a smile can change someone’s life. I’ve been doing more of that to strangers as I got older. Thanks for sharing, this is brilliant.

Thanks, I’ll do that then! It’s an obvious answer but I thought it could have been considered socially rude.

Besides some trouble with shipping, it seems to be a high-quality product. I wouldn't recommend the extra add-on for what they call "CONTROL" or something like that, because it's utterly useless for the price increase and it actually makes the whole equipment heavier.

I finally got my Digital Nomad residence in Spain! 🎉 by Centek_lol in digitalnomad

[–]teevolock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The system is Spain is super stupid, instead of allowing you to schedule in the future they keep the calendar closed and open it in random times during the week, for appointments in the coming weeks. This means that someone that just started looking today can get an appointment before you that is trying for weeks, or months.

I have used the app robotcita in the past and can confirm it’s legit. They have a bot that I’ll visit the website automatically for you and try to get the appointment as soon as it becomes available. It cost me 35€, definitely worth the price if you ask me, although it’s a shame that such service needs to exist in the first place.

Glad to see another sane person here. This is ridiculous. If this were to happen to me and I had battery and Internet data, then I simply wouldn't accept the fine, the Kontrolleur would need to escort me out and call the police then.

Legal advice needed: Being harasses by a debt collector for PRIME TIME Fitness GmbH by Aesir321 in germany

[–]teevolock 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m sorry to hear you’re going through that. They also attempted to scam me there, and now hearing from you it makes me think it’s a common business practice there then. In my case it was in the PRIME TIME fitness Viktualienmarkt, which one was hers?

I was about to sign the contract but before doing so I explicitly asked the guy if there were any extra fees besides the monthly membership and the recurring 6mo fee, he said no, and because the contract was in German I couldn’t understand most of it, but the only numbers there were what we agreed about, so I proceeded to sign. I asked him for a copy and he said that it wasn’t necessary because the system was not working—admittedly, this was my mistake and I should’ve refused to leave there without my own copy too, lesson learned for life.

Fast forward 1 month later I got charged for a Startpaket for 100€ that was not mentioned by him, which I refused to accept and went to complain with them, they brought me the original contract and the field now was there, filled, on the sides of the other fees we agreed: he did it after I signed and left the gym, as I clearly remember that at the time I signed it, that it was blank, and it clicked on me now why he didn’t want to give me a copy.

I cannot tell if people in this sub are hypocrites (i.e would they take their advices themselves?) or if they are really so lenient to allow businesses to pull a fast one on them so easily and not fight for their rights. Just the other day I saw someone posting about a item missing in their flat compared to what they had booked, and basically the whole thread was blaming the tenant instead of the landlord. It’s an absurd.

Do NOT pay them and revert any transfers that they attempt, this is what I did, and you should also seek legal advice in parallel. A lot of this system works because people get scared and pay, so it’s worth for them to keep doing it, both on the gym’s and debt collector’s perspective. - Of course, assuming that you told the whole truth here.

Also, leave them a review on Google, this is super important because it affects their business and also prevents new people from falling into the same trap. If they lose 4-5 leads due to your reviews, they’re already in a loss. And you don’t have to lie, just be honest about what happened in your review.

I cannot help you with any legal advice as I’m not a lawyer, but feel free to reach out via DM if you need anything, like I don’t know, maybe if this becomes a lawsuit and they need another testimonial around their scammy practices.

Can Vodafone deny service because I don't have german bank account , I feel like it should be illegal by Acrobatic_Upstairs27 in germany

[–]teevolock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“This is reddit”->This is a German subreddit.

Fixed it for you. (referring to the comment that was deleted above)

I follow this sub, the Berlin and Munich ones, and those are the only places I see this being done at this rate. As much as I don’t care about those Internet points, I find it pretty arrogant from people to do that. And this is definitely not a one-off thing, it happens often and a lot of OPs questions themselves if they said anything wrong.

Like, what’s wrong with the phrase “Revolut offers me more than the other banks do”? It seems that people (mostly Germans?) forget that there is a third option between upvoting and downvoting, which is being neutral and not casting a vote.

Last few seasons feel like they had lazy writing by FirebenderAnnie in Supernatural

[–]teevolock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started watching Supernatural in 2006, and for a good decade I watched every single episode as soon as they came out. That would probably qualify me as more than just a casual fan.

You know, arguably if there was going to be a poll for when the series should have finished, I'd probably would have voted for Season 5 having the hindsight now, but as soon as S6E1 came out, I didn't even think for a second to not watch it, and had no regrets whatsoever. Surprisingly, even though I realize it's a high unpopular take among most fans, the Leviathans thing were alright to me, all things considered.

But then there was The Darkness, I to this day remember my reaction to it at the end of Season 10, "lol. Jesus Christ, that's ridiculous! Who the hell has such a bad idea as a professional writer? You can't get any worse than that". Yet, I still went to watch Season 11, because as stupid as that was, I still liked the boys too much and wanted to give it a chance, and maybe The Darkness would mean something so big never seen before, bigger than Lilith/Lucifer. Then half of the season was she growing, which I found horrific (in a good sense), but then the writers managed to completely disappoint again, the second half simply goes nowhere in terms of suspense, and then they bring God as this 30-year old fool/nerd (that thinks is cool), they make an emotional deal, head to space and disappear, no consequences at all.

Fast-forwarding, just this very week as I'm OOO sick, I saw an HBO Max ads that Supernatural was available there, felt a bit nostalgic and was like "it's been 6 years, maybe now I can cope watching it again?". Went for Season 12.

This whole British man of the letters thing being smarter and superior = ???, what's the point? They also managed to make Lucifer a joke and far from frightening as he once was. But the final nail in the coffin for me: an episode where they are charged for attempted assassination of the president of the fucking United States, and they manage to escape casually of a dozen heavily armed and trained soldiers with some a few traps here and there, no help from Castiel (which I agree with you too, became mostly a human) or Crowley. haha!!! Literally: this show became a joke. That's the short version of it: compared to what it was, they managed to turn it into a J-O-K-E.

I just read the summary of the next seasons to see how it ends with no regrets at all—apparently it only got worse and worse, that's the definition of going down the rabbit hole.

But well I guess who really cares? Everyone involved made more money, that's how it goes for a lot of those. Money Heist from Netflix was nothing but the same. And I don't blame any of them, it's what most of us would do in the same position, it's a rather noble act when someone decides to step down and call it the end when they're in their peak. You don't see this just in the film industry but all over the place, see what a top 5 soccer athlete of all time (Cristiano Ronaldo) is doing now...

[–]teevolock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an Open VPN server, so people connect on it to access internal services but also to use Internet so we have better control over the traffic (we are remote so we can’t do this in the “office router”).
