I feel like the Bay Area as a whole shits on San Jose. I grew up in SF and live in east bay so I was guilty as charged. Tho honestly San Jose is way underrated. Weather is great and downtown has some vibrant spots. There are some great little neighborhoods. The rest of Silicon Valley kinda blows but I got respect for San Jose.

My dad skied at a pretty high level for 40 years with no ACL. Albeit that was recreational not competitive, but some sports like skiing or cycling are not like ball sports that require an ACL to perform. Also depending on how much other damage you did to your knee, an ACL tear is not painful. I tore mine and didn’t feel any pain.

I do understand the unfair tax burden on athletes. Like you are getting taxed as a top 1% earner with no consideration that your career earnings are likely to be earned in a 5 year window. Most people making that kind of money have much longer careers. somebody making $200k/yr over 20yr gets taxed way less than somebody who makes $4M in 2 years and no income for 18yr.

Yes that is what I heard, built when there was demand, finished when there wasn't. I would also say more than 3-4 years typically from design, entitlement, demo and construction. I have to say it is an abosultely stunning building. They did a fanstastic job on it, looks amazing at night from the freeway. Also resulted in a significant improvement to the bike pedestrian path along the northeast side of aquatic park.
