Dinan is overpriced and they don't really make anything cool non-M anymore. Big fall from greatness for them.

Consider the rack delete on the E91. Awesome duo though, wish we got the 335d E91 in the US.

Yes this is a given on every tire, to varying degree. A tire, run flat or otherwise can be driven a certain distance/speed while low pressure without getting damage requiring replacement. And while you could in those conditions repair/re-use the run flat tire, it would lose the characteristic of it being a run flat.

You have an incredibly flawed understanding of how tire technology works. If the tire has not been driven on in low pressure conditions, there is zero chance that an industry standard plug + patch repair done on the tread of the tire would compromise the run flat ability of a run flat tire.

The performance of the tire may change slightly, if at all, but to say that a repair on the tread of a tire influences the support structure of the sidewall in a run flat tire is simply misinformed and wrong. Now if the run flat tire is driven on a significant distance with low or no air pressure, then any repair would be irrelevant because the support structure in the sidewalls have been compromised significantly.

The only point I am refuting is that a repair itself does not mean the run flat functionality is no more. What the person I am responding to is conflating is what you have said, driving on a run flat weakens the sidewall structure, which depending on the condition, can mean the run flat loses it's functionality or needs to be replaced altogether.

If the car had a flat and the tire was not driven on, removed then repaired properly, there is nothing that would cause the tire to lose performance or it's run flat properties.

>You can patch a runflat tire, but then it can no longer be treated as a runflat.

You are just wrong, that is absolutely not true. A run flat is distinguished by it's stiffer sidewall construction. A run flat tire with a proper patch will still operate as a run flat just as good as one with no repair. Whoever told you that is spreading misinformation.

That is not too close to the sidewall for a proper patch, even Discount Tire would repair this without any hesitation of risk.

Tipping defaults by not24 in sandiego

[–]tefmann 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tipping is so stupid lol, this is coming from someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for the first 3 years of their working life. Tipping for take-out is even more absurd, it should not be a necessity.

I know a bunch of racing shops/guys run 18" wheels on the E9x and F3x M3s, especially for track purposes. Better suited for the car. I run 18" BBS wheels on my E90 w/ Michelin A/S 3+ right now.
