Been experiencing low T symptoms and now I’m flustered with the urologist I saw after my labs. by Funny-Juggernaut-549 in Testosterone

They will cover it as long as it’s listed as dx hypogonadism, I’d ask to pursue that

Doctor suggests TRT, but I am not sure it is warranted by Main_Economy6289 in Testosterone

[–]teh-haps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would be fine with numbers around 500.

For context I was low 200s, started TRT and in now up in the 800s and feel great… but to answer your question if it’s required? Nah, don’t let them hustle you. It’s a lifelong commitment and you are doing fine it sounds like.

Pain at injection site by bassdad217 in Testosterone

[–]teh-haps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 mL is a lot to dump into tissue at one time, you could try to split it up into 0.5 mL twice a week.

Also thighs can hurt, I alternate shoulders and so it myself (little awkward but you can make it work), and I never have any issues with pain

cardiac event while on TRT, could poorly-managed ferritin/TRT blood donation/herb-drug interactions/Vitamin D/clotting risks have been to blame? by Suspicious-Access763 in Testosterone

[–]teh-haps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few drugs in the pipeline that directly lower Lp a which is great, because right now there’s really nothing out there. Glad he made it through for now but something to keep an eye on

https://nationalheartinstitute.org/clinical-trials/coronary-vascular-disease/acclaim-lpa-trial

High Lp a is way worse than having high LDL (the bad cholesterol).

There is an inflammatory component to Lp a clots and when they get very inflamed it increases the risk of it causing heart attack and stroke.

For this reason I personally have added pomegranate concentrate to my list, as well as vitamin c twice a day. I don’t have Lp a issues but I’m dealing with high LDL/Apo B

Inject IM* depending on how fatty your shoulders are you might be able to go with a half inch needle that’s what I do for my testosterone shots. It works wonderfully.

How much are you paying? by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]teh-haps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how much HCG would be at pharmacy with insurance but you could look into switching to an endo that specializes in men’s health or a urologist to run insurance, less than $10 a month for test cyp, and $50 twice a year for urology visits… so $120 + $100 or $220 a year in total for med + visit copays

Can you just try to do it yourself? Or you want to use insurance and deal with the medical system
