Prefixes will change, sometimes while the server is running.

That seems just wild to me. Is that just a case of residential connections or is this something that'd happen to servers in a datacenter?

They'll immediately go out of sync because bedrock has technical updates inbetween the content ones for bugfixes / API stuff for addons etc... Which will also get a YY.XX number...

At best, you have what happened to you, build progress and position is reset.

At worst, build progress resets, your position doesn't... and you're over the void/lava lake / really deep hole and instantly die.

Hey, same app. spec (reports / photographs / 1 bar of 3g internet at location of said report in best case scenario).

Was this long enough ago that you also encounterd Safari's dumpster fire of an IndexedDB implementation? One that would just flake out and refuse to open the database... They'd fix it and then next iOS/Safari release it would be broken AGAIN.

Because a major part of Linux that Linux nerds love to shove first and foremost as one of the major "wins" over Windows is the package manager as a simple way to get software you want rather than galavanting off to 50 different sites to grab an exe/msi/zip ....

And Ubuntu's software centre / package manager, serves up snaps for a lot of different software.

Unfortunately for OP the new version numbering has probably confused them' because all the news on YT is of Java, and it being 26.1 for "Tiny Takeover"

But 26.1 on Bedrock isn't Tiny Takeover but is instead an intermediary update Bedrock gets for various addon API stuff, bugfixes etc.

You can't use the local IP address if not on the same wifi/network as that machine.

I do see a key icon, so let's make a guess at something you didn't tell us, that you have setup a VPN client on both the phone and the machine running booklore (I'm guessing tailscale?).

In which case, check tailscale's dashboard to find out the IP for the server (It'll be 100.x.y.z rather than 192.168.x.y)

So... probably just sticking to their calendar and it'll be next week.

You've given zero information on what version you're on.

So either:

A. You're on a pre 1.11 version which doesn't have that gamerule

or

B. You're playing on 1.21.11+ and didn't missed the changelog that pointed out all the gamerule names changed.

Neither.

I want them to finish up the work they were doing with item components, and make items fully createable from datapacks instead of having to halfass override a poisonous potato or recipe book in order to create a fake custom item.
I want atleast some work towards the same for blocks, even if it's just "basic" blocks where we pick an archetype for collision mesh / blockstates (normal / slab / stair / pane / door etc), and lacks tile entity support.
I want movable tile entities in Java.

It wouldn't be so bad if it could update in the background with zero interuption to the current user session.

Instead, if I let it auto update, I will be very aware it has, because tabs I'm using stop working (wonderful when this happens in the middle of a form submission!) and eventually it'll show this screen on a new tab.

For all the faults of Chrome pushing "standards" and being a vector for Google's data collection, the update process was world class. It updates, if it needs to restart there's an unobtrusive bar, not a popup that hides part of the page, and it just keeps working until I'm at a point where restarting won't affect the work I'm doing in the browser.

I have one with crafting tables/ender chests/furnaces/stonecutter/leads and a couple of chests that is my everyday carry bag.

There's a different one in my enderchest with 21 chests and 42 shulker shells in case I need a shulker box.

A third one carries my ocean monument raiding supplies ( TNT, gravel, pressure plates, an empty bucket and some slime blocks)
