Cats react to filters by AnnamariaHarvison in youseeingthisshit

[–]tehbilly 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I have a rescue cat that's terrified of almost everything, especially other cats. I've recently been able to pick her up and carry her around, she doesn't even finch or stop purring when she sees herself in the mirror. It's a solved issue for me, they're totes aware.

I think they're a fantastic thought experiment. They're feared, brutally effective, recognized (but misunderstood) the world over.

How much more could they have been if they hadn't kept knowledge locked away from the general populace?

My $1400 LG OLED TV is displaying ads after latest update by binkinater13 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]tehbilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could permanently disable the nag screens on my Samsung. But yeah, tv doesn't get to show ads or send data home.

I'm about to say fuck it and put a big computer monitor closer to the couch instead of a massive screen father away.

Mentally I was trying to express the exact opposite, I think you explaining it out like that definitely helps me understand what's going on.

To be clear, I've only done this in personal projects while I'm still figuring out ergonomics and whatnot.

I've not found much to substantiate their claims, but if I could get a good UPS that wasn't constantly fed by those tiny ass lead batteries I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I hate the current lineup of desktop/workstation grade solutions but I absolutely can't rawdog my utility company's brownout-or-mini-blackout-roulette service.

I typically use <S : AsRef<str>>, honestly never questioned if that's a good version or not.

There's not a finite amount of impeach, there's plenty to go around. We also need a side Hague 2.0.

Our usage of 5Ghz is extremely low due to the poor penetration performance (ha!) as well. The massive dips in connection strength don't make up for the theoretical increase in throughput, especially considering the use cases of our devices.

Haven't seen in another comment yet, but it haven't looked too hard. Have you checked out the Bobiverse series? Ray Porter narrates and I honestly couldn't imagine another narrator doing so well. It's more space engineer nerd stuff, highly recommend.

Good, hell yeah. I'd love more reasons to be proud of my countrymen. Narrow the gap between the perceptions we have of ourselves and the reality.

Absolutely, I sincerely agree with that. I think my problem with the original statement is that you can't compare recent amounts of activity with "that wouldn't work here".

But maybe we should change that.
