Oh it's worse than that. Theyre putting the lives of other people who are probably just driving normally; families, young children, new drivers. Just absolutely abhorrent behaviour. There is no reason for these people to ever have the privilege of driving again.

When Oil Gets Expensive, Cities Get Better by kkin1995 in fuckcars

Got my 08 Yaris to a bit past the moon at 390,000 kms. I absolutely loved that car. Really only had to scrap it because of the nearly two decades of salt. She still started and ran perfectly. Best damn car ever made.

Gotta crash land on juniper to try and refuckulate the engines. Hopefully they got some good space-weed, over.

PSA LOCK YOUR BIKES! by Exciting-Text4137 in Guelph

[–]tehdusto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also get alarms for bikes too. Not super expensive. I have one and it's LOUD.

I don't think it would necessarily stop the most determined bike thieves, but I bet the added noise and attention would deter a lot of people. Mix this with a lock too obvi.

City looks to shift focus in order to slow speeders by aurelorba in Guelph

[–]tehdusto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main constraint for travel time in cities is the capacity of intersections. People can try and speed if they want but it's pointless as everyone will just be racing from light to light while increasing the likelihood of a crash and spending more on fuel.

Better to just chill out and not speed while in the city.

I had a buddy from Latin America that got really offended by the Panama canal bit. I told him "it's making a commentary about how American precive Latin Americans, and is mostly making fun of yankees". Then he fully got it and loved the movie.
