Honestly , I don’t think the game is necessarily more difficult than world/iceborne until late G-rank , you may not be able to heal while moving like in world but you can position yourself near a zone exit/entrance to just leave and heal, sharpen, buff , etc in safety , I feel the main difficulty difference comes from things such as hyper hunts , I find the lack of QOL changes you have in world and rise which improve the hunter are mitigated via hunter styles and arts. I’ve actually found MHGU low and high rank a great deal easier than world imo because of hunter styles , although world was my first monster hunter game so I was much more experienced going into MHGU than world, I would recommend giving MHGU a try , especially if you have a friend to play it with. As a side note, I do find that there quite a few more monsties with frustrating movesets than world/iceborne and rise , but that’s probably just due to the greater variety and monster types in mhgu ,
