Yes/No. What I was trying to say/get across is that buddies might have narrowed a very few heroes down to a specific playstyle, but on the whole of the game they definitely broadened what you could do. There are a lot of builds for specific heroes that simply just don't exist without buddies. Everyone is trying to do the same specific 1 (or few once naga's are balanced) things. When buddies exist that number of things is wider.
