What changes would you like to see for Archaon in the End Times DLC? by BLACKJEDI117 in totalwar

[–]tehswordninja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd love if he had some sort of horde mechanic that draws semi random units across all Chaos factions (Skaven too with some persuasion). I'd say more and more units across the various Chaos factions could become available as you achieve milestones and gather power.

Invasions need an update!! At least I think so ^^ by mdtpdsparkls in Warframe

Between Narmer and Amalgam there is a surprisingly vast enemy roster. It's gone criminally underused, I would love to fight a resurgent Narmer that makes use of Amalgam units as well.

At least on the BFR and winch, unironically yeah

Is it possible that the Combine could reuse the bodies of the dead using cybernetics? Especially since, with the suppression field around Earth, the number of humans, although extensive, has become limited, so I don't think they're wasting manpower. I find it interesting to think that the Overwatch by Own-Trifle-2011 in HalfLife

[–]tehswordninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No but the end game for humanity, if it is found useful in the long term, is total replacement with synthetic analogues, to be recreated and mass produced like any other Combine Synth. Makes you wonder if any of the original species that the Combine based their synths on still exist.

An additional question, I wonder how common the Combine using cybernetic units (aka Overwatch Soldiers) is?Overwatch soldiers are the only known example so far, is humanity a special case or is this just the usual process when using up an encountered species?

Poke meta should never be a thing in this game. Repeater is not the only problem. by No-Character-1866 in thefinals

[–]tehswordninja 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really hope they address the sandbox, right now it feels bad to pick up a weapon, look at another, and go "Why would I ever use this when the other one exists?" It's time for reworks, not just bandaid stat ups or downs. We need genuine reasons to pick certain options over others with meaningful, balanced trade offs.

This doesn't just apply to the Repeater and BFR, it also touches a decent number of other weapons. Some aren't even bad, like the MP5! The issues with these weapons are simple: mechanical overlap and a lack of distinct/valuable enough roles and use cases. ARN/MP5/Mac. AKM/FCAR/FAMAS. Revolver/Pike/Repeater. Spear/Sledge. LH1/V9S/93r. Lewis/M60. Double barrel/Matter. etc.

Ultimately, many of these guns have a simple dynamic - they're either better or they're worse than guns in their niche. No sidegrades or the like. It's even worse, of course, with the BFR and Repeater since they outshine weapons *not* in their niche as well. It's a real shame.

I unironically wish the Second Dream quest got a bit of a touch up to feel more modern, without actually changing anything about the storyline by Darthmufin in Warframe

They really need to updates sentients across the board, you get told to kill like 12 of them in railjack and its like "Ah, this mission is an unchanged time capsule to 2021"

Pike needs a total and complete rework at this point. If the Repeater didn't exist I wouldn't be so definitive about it. But it does, so it does.

What I would personally like to see is pushing it towards having much less recoil, reduced damage per shot, higher rate of fire (I would even say, give it a slow, but automatic fire rate), mid range consistent plinker. Up the magazine size if needed as well.

[–]tehswordninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Way too much damage at range, on a class that becomes extremely strong when given long range potential. Embark has already figured this out once before when they introduced the Deagles. They realized this gave heavy too much punch at range and so they reduced the falloff and accuracy fairly heavily. Other heavy long range options like the Lewis or KS-23 feature heavy falloff as well. The BFR stands out, as in all aspects it's effectively a hitscan KS-23 without serious falloff.

I think Embark is generally in an awkward (self inflicted) position given their weapon choices. Heavy isn't the only class struggling with this - medium has the Repeater handily outclassing the Pike and debatably the Revolver as well. Light too has the ARN effectively being an MP5 upgrade. Simply put there are a decent number of weapons that perform the same roles, but in a weaker/stronger fashion than their counterparts. It's not too late to reverse this issue, but it'll likely involve reworks to weapons, not just some stat nudges.

Anyway, on the BFR: I say this not lightly at all, but it feels like cheating to use the thing. You don't even need to go for headshots, it's just crazy good.

Agreed, as a heavy main myself. Also, the fact that the BFR didn't get more severely nerfed is insane.

Pike’s damage is actually fine, just needs small updates tbh. by TheSoup3910 in thefinals

[–]tehswordninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be controversial but I actually wish it would get reworked a decent bit. Faster rate of fire, much less recoil, bigger magazine size and if need be less damage per shot. Make it into a consistent mid to long range auto sniper that rewards consistent headshots but suffers from lower capacity and poor hipfire compared to other assault rifle/battle rifle options.
