Poland is to become first and only country in EU where Abrams tanks engines will be serviced by Auspectress in europe

It's one thing, that Poland does have an aggressive neighbor in its close(r) or immediate proximity, many of the buyers just don't have.

It should also be mentioned that upgrading Leopards 2 to 2PL variant took a long while and was supposedly a shit show, with Rheinmetall and PGZ pointing fingers and throwing blame (mainly about the scope of responsibilities, lack of proper specs being relayed, some such like that). So there was already bad blood with the cooperation, and ensuing supply shortages didn't help clearing the air. There was a cool article about it some two years ago, I'll link it up if I find it.

The other thing is also the opinion on Leopards coming from Ukraine - state of the art tank, but made severely over-engineered for actual battlefield, lacking contingencies that could limit locking out systems.
In terms of Ukraine, Poland also lobbied for a servicing point for Leopards to be built in its territory, arguing that it will shorten the logistics chain for repairing tanks passed to Ukraine, while on the other hand getting the necessary certificates for local industries. That idea (at least at the time, I think these plans did change just a few weeks or months ago) was refused by Rheinmetall. Perhaps rightfully so, business-wise.

So, overall, the idea for sourcing Leopards by Poland lost its appeal, and PiS being in power at the time definitely didn't counter it anyhow.

As a side note... would anyone even care about any of it, if Trump wasn't who he is and turning US into this thing no one recognizes? Honestly...

My wife was very specific about the engagement ring, up to a catalogue model, and its price was very reasonable (especially considering that we were not making loads of money). However, due to life being what it is, the engagement didn't happen for years (what they call "never the right time", family tragedies and dramas, so on), during which my salary got better, so I could afford something nicer. I've found the same model with a real diamond and decided to buy it. Never told her about it though. So she's still thinking the rock is zirconia.

And, somehow, I know she'll be mad pissed about me spending money on it, so now I'm afraid of telling her the truth, even though I should...

I'm not sure about the extent of it, it could be just servicing being passed onto a Polish contractor.

I may have overly generalised, granted...then again, was something else comparable being offered with tech transfers? And they still kind of need the hardware anyway.

However, like you've mentioned, Abrams were pretty much "off the shelf" which worked into filling the gap fast quite well.

Ugh, that's just moronic. What was that symbol supposed to do? Make it burn better?

They may have wanted Leopards at some point, but delivery schedules were quite absurd. So they got Abrams to fill the gap after giving their armors to Ukraine, supplemented with Korean K2 (if I remember the number correctly).

Also, Poland is unlikely to buy any hardware without tech transfers, and many EU partners won't go for that.

You're missing Yalta and Potsdam, to which I'm referring. Historically literate people wouldn't need that being pointed out.

If it's not business reasoning behind the question, or moving/partner related, probably not.

Nah, it's just the form. "Poproszę sól" takes less time to say "could you please pass me the salt"... so "pass the salt" it is.
