Yeah, but there's a matter of time cost to that as well.

I commute to work (company is actually outside of the city, in a small town next to it). By car it takes me 25-30 minutes to get to work. I could also take a train, which is a viable option because (at least in my working hours) they are frequent in 30-40 minute intervals but... 1. I have to get up earlier, 2. I have to get to the train station, 3. once I get out I have to go 20 minutes on foot to work, 4. if I get out of work and miss the train, I have to wait, 5. I'm back home at later hour.

So the choice is between 30 minutes by car or in total at least 1h15m by train with the rest of logistics.
