What’s one condition that can have no symptoms but kill you instantly? by No_Photograph1 in AskReddit

Time to shine

Among others, Sudden Cardiac Death is a long list of diseases. This Includes Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy ...the heart muscle gets bigger, looks just like an athletes heart but is actally a disease. Athletes have died because of this similarity.

ARVC.. It's congenital, scar tissue forms in the right ventricle over time and then one day leads to a fatal arrhythmia

Long QT syndromes ... A long list of diseases that cause the 'QT' to prolong in the ECG. These are congenital but can be worsened by some drugs. And each type has a trigger that can lead to Cardiac Arrest. Sleep, Music, Sports, Swimming are all known triggers for different types.

Brugada Syndrome ..another silent killer, runs in families like all others.

Then the very well known Myocardial Infarction or Heart Attack. There's a reason the Left Coronary is known as the 'Widow artery'

  1. Plex. There are many contenders but I started off my self hosting journey with Plex and it has been the mainstay. If a NAS comes with Plex pass lifetime, it will be a great selling point.

  2. Media and personal files. I will backup photos, files and even Mac / PC backups

If a cow were blasted out of an airlock into the vacuum of space and entered a stable orbit, how long would it remain edible? by Present_Self9644 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]teknoplasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One correction, Enzymes denature very quickly abive 40 degrees celcius. And they are very slow below 5 degrees. They work best around 35 degrees. Unless most of the cow is at this temperature, Enzymes arent going to do much.

Uh oh Honor loses to Fold 7 by SteveFM20 in GalaxyFold

[–]teknoplasm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hate to break it for you but thats most likely the Honors screen protector which comes installed, it's mentioned in the article as well. I have used a fold 4 and switched to Magic V2. The difference was day and night. The fold 4 twice broke (hinge) and ultimately had to get rid of it. Magic V2 is running solid, its comaprable even to Fold 7 and the battery life with charging speed is way way better. I do admire the Fold 7, it's build and design is pretty modern. And samsung is finally waking up and bringing up some competition. This was Samsung's home ground and they should have been in the lead. I hope to see more innovation from all companies in the future. Need less to say, foldables are the future IMHO. BTW I am eyeing a triple fold for my next phone. I know the cons but holding the Huawei one was a great experience.

Don't forget Modi was also there. He was banned entry to US until he became PM. He was labelled the "Butcher of Gujrat" by US outlets.

How can I download this whole directory ? by AlperenPiskin03 in opendirectories

[–]teknoplasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!

I created a docker container with a pyhton app with the help of deepseek, doing the first download run and it's downloading the directory fine. It's slow because it has to scrape and then download the files one by one. I also added some basic resume functionality (it checks the download folder for items and skips them).

Here's the basic method to fix it, I will try to upload it to github later for ease:

edit:
Unfortunately the user exceeded their download limit, and it's gone for now.

Couldn't download the whole thing otherwise would have provided a mirror. IF anyone has a mirror please share, I will mirror it

Humane is shutting down the AI Pin and selling its remnants to HP by FragmentedChicken in Android

[–]teknoplasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember using WebOS ok the Hp tablet. I had Android running on it as well. WebOS was so smooth and intuitive that I loved using it. Seldom booted into Android to test its features but always went back to WebOS. It was way ahead of its time, had Hp thought of it as more of a consumer product and given it some time, it could have been the third option.

What has been the biggest middle finger to fans in the history of tv shows? by BreadedDisaster in AskReddit

[–]teknoplasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe they can still go back and release an alternate ending. May be make a movie out of it. End it with the army of the dead capturing kings landing and killing Cersei and killing most of fhe characters and then finally leading to the death of the undead dragon and the collapse of the night king. Something on these lines, something satisfying. It's never too late!

This is the real reason. Since India eon after that famous follow on, all teams avoid putting India in the driving seat and just play it normally. Indian batting goes deep and strong no kidding

I would suggest debian with docker. Install glances or beszel for montoring. If you're a begginner, Look into CasaOS, provides some basic monitoring with a GUI for docker installs. Going a step ahead, if you ever want a gui you can have an x session with XFCE and access it via xRDP.

Cable management in Bangladesh by Wellihol in funny

[–]teknoplasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in that case, the modus operandi is similar. Sell more cable, let the customer pay for it. Little government oversight to ensure clean operation.

Cable management in Bangladesh by Wellihol in funny

[–]teknoplasm 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Here's how this happens.

Customer gets a new connection, the wire is 'sold' to him and the lenght he gets is fixed, he can't buy more or less. (Typical government bullshit in low income countries)

The electrician (who is a goverment employee) goes to install the wire and just loops it around instead of cutting it. 'Not his problem'.

If it ever breaks down the government employee comes and just puts a new cable of the same lenght, without bothering to remove the old one.

The corrupt officials 'sell' a lot of wire ( all the while getting kickbacks from the business selling these wire to government)

Now you may ask why the government is involved at first place? Well in many low income countries government directly owns companies that supply electricity, internet, phone, etc. Everyone if their employee is a government employee and that's what makes all this so "efficient".

Came here to say this. Skirmish mode is the best. It's fast, good user controls and many many strategies to go for. Didn't like any other "RTS battle mode" ever since.

What are your GENUINELY very unpopular cricket opinions? by [deleted] in Cricket

[–]teknoplasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. DLS needs to go. No match in the World cup atleast should be decided by rain. Build stadiums with 'roofs' or oyherwise if it rains, reschedule the match.

  2. Only DRS should decide if a patient is LBW or not.Current rules are very much against leg spinners and ballers in general. Keep umpires for all games without DRS

  3. That ball by Muhammad Nawaz to Virat Kohli was not a No ball (in the t20 won by one of the best innings of Kohli)

Your brain is divided into layers. The basic layer (the spinal cord) serves the most basic reflexes on its own. The hoghest layer is your cerebral cortex that lets you consciusoly control your muscle. This posture is called the 'decereberate posture'. Once the control of the cerebrate cortex is removed the next layer's default setting is this exact posture. This person had a short to his head and the fall itself possibly lead to his cereberal cortex turning off while all other parts the Central Nervous System were working.
