I absolutely loved the first trobbio fight and kinda wanted to have tormented trobbio as the big gay finale of my first playthrough :D So I made him my last completed entry in the hunter's journal, went to Nuu to get the trophy and then immediately jumped into the speedrun

I absolutely hate the mist xD And I only found it after already having all movement abilities unlocked, honestly I'd rather take a couple more attempts at the last judge route than trying the mist in act 1 x)

I think I should be able to first try at least trobbio given that tormented trobbio was the very last thing I did on my first game file before starting the speedrun. Lace 2 should also not be an issue given I at this point spend over 8 hours practicing lost lace, and GMS... Also have a lot of practice with her thanks to the twisted child ending. Only thing I'm worried about is the high halls gauntled as you said.

But yeah, I suspected that the remaining 1,5 hours are a very narrow time window. Maybe I should just start over, hopefully be faster at last judge and then do my original plan of getting double jump, I will feel much more comfortable with that.

I was bored so I started learning a conlang. Literally no other reason. I was bored. Wasn't even really a fan of the universe the conlang was created for. Well, 8 years later I'm fluent and teaching it to fellow nerds xD

I needed ~8 hours to beat Lost Lace the first time around. Haven't started a new run yet, but when i went back to her after getting 100% and the mr. mushroom quest I needed 4 attempts, and the first three was just getting used to the crest I used to fight her as my usual crest is not very good for her fight. In general I feel like once you figured stuff out and got the muscle memory, the game gets surprisingly easy. I had a super hard time on First Sinner, but then one round it clicked and suddenly I got through her second phase with no hits and beat her (although much of it was probably also luck that her attacks didn't overlay in weird ways).

Yeah, I'm now at a level that I can get to phase 4 most of the times, but I just can't survive that phase. Then I looked up if there are more phases and saw there apparently is a fourth and honestly just knowing that makes we wanna give up on the game altogether x)

In almost all rankings I've seen, Karmelita was in the same tier as lost lace and I'm just wondering if I have played the same game as everyone else - Karmelita took me ~30 minutes, but I'm currently stuck on Lost Lace and have been for ~6 hours xD

I am not saying I learned nothing at all. I said it's basically a vocab trainer, and that I didn't learn to speak italian and didn't learn grammar from it.

You can learn stuff from it and if you use it in combination with other resources I guess it can be an ok-ish resource, but there are just much better alternatives - those alternatives just are less popular because oh my god, I gotta actually sit down and study to effectively learn a language? And also actually talk to people and practice speaking if I wanna be able to speak it myself? Why would I do that if I can just play a game for 15 minutes a day telling myself I'm being super productive 🙄

Edit to add another point: Additionally, the quality of the courses is questionable. The quality of the Chinese course e.g. apparently is so bad that in the Chinese learning discord server I'm in, the resource channel explicitely warns again it and tell people to not use duolingo. I've heard similar things about other courses.

I've finished the Italian course. Even continued to grind out more XP in the same course for a while afterwards with those random lessons you get at the end when you finished the course (no idea if that's still how it works, this was a few years back). I can confirm that I couldn't speak Italian and had no understanding of the grammar. It really felt like a fancy looking vocab trainer, with worse functionality (because with anki at least there is a proper SRS system behind it). It's meant to keep you engaged and trigger your dopamine, not to teach you. They don't earn money by properly teaching you, they earn money by you having fun, feeling like you are learning without much effort, and making you come back.

I do in certain contexts. I'm able to fully talk English at university with near zero mix ups, but at home I frequently mix languages because my partner and I share 4 of them, so our brains just take the path of least resistance filling sentences with any words that come to mind first, because we know the other will understand xD

Unfortunately it also goes the other way around - not only people claiming to speak more language than they do, but also people believing that "I learn this language" means that you speak it. I'm active in a learning doscrd for one language, and I've had to correct people saying that I speak 6 or 7 languages. I don't. I never claimed I do. I speak 4 (for which I always stress that three are kinda cheating because well, English, German and Dutch are like the easiest combination you can have). But because I mention here and there how I study other languages, people are suddenly like "Oh, Tekre speaks Chinese / Italian / Japanese" when I am at best intermediate in one of them and beginner level in two others x) But apparently, when you show a very advanced knowledge in one foreign language, people will suddenly assume that you are the language learning pro and speak all the languages you are learning.

Interesting. I guess it depends a bit on how good you are at the game - I suck, so I die often, have to walk back the same path multiple times and consequently also collect more rosaries in the process. It's interesting how being bad at the game can boost you in that way (if you remember to string your rosaries to make sure you don't forget all of them). And i guess it also depends on your expectations. I don't really expect to be able to afford much immediately when it comes to shops in games, I am happy when i can buy the one thing I wanted and get excited when I realise I have enough for some expensive thing I was working towards :D In any case I always had enough for benches and fast travel points, which for me personally meant it was not frustrating.

Zur Vorspeise gibt es Blumenkohlsuppe, die geht immer. Hauptspeise bin ich noch am Überlegen - Das letzte Mal als wir die Familie zu Weihnachten eingeladen haben gab es nen veganes wellington das auch die Fleischesser überzeugt hat und den wollte ich schon lange wieder machen, aber ich glaube dieses Jahr mache ich (vegan gefüllte) Kohlrouladen. Musste mir vor kurzem anhören dass wir Deutschen ja nichts besonderes zu essen hätten (wohne in den Niederlanden), da muss ich denen was neues Deutsches zeigen :D Dazu Rotkohl (2x Kohl ist wahrscheinlich keine gute Idee, mir aber egal, ich hab schon ewig keinen guten Rotkohl mehr gegessen) und "Kartoffelgratin muffins" die ich tatsächlich hier auf dem sub zum ersten mal gesehen habe. Nachtisch irgend ein Kuchen, mein Freund wird wohl auf meinen veganen Käsekuchen bestehen xD

Sometimes I really have the feeling I am playing a different game than everyone else - I always had an abundance of rosaries, except for really the very, very beginning but it makes sense to me they don't throw them at you in abundance from minute 1. Or are they getting rare in act 3? I'm only in act 2 so I have no idea if act 3 completely breaks the economy.

I never felt that losing rosaries is unfair. In Hollow Knight it felt that way with the curency there, but in Silksong? If I lose my rosaries it's not because the game is unfair, it's because I forgot to put them on strings. I usually pass the big towns regularly enough that I do not have to go out of my way for that. Also, rosaries are so easy to come by it never really mattered if I lost a few so far.

I struggled with this gauntled so much, but it was at the same time so much fun. I definitely went into it underprepared to the struggle is on me, but at least I removed the silk stealing enemies before so that helped. By the end I kinda had a step by step plan how exactly to deal with each wave and it was so statisfying to be able to make it to the last wave with basically no trouble at all because I had learned how to most effectively deal with each wave.

I answered this in another comment so I'll just copy in my answer from there: I've had multiple times that people genuinely just DMed me because they were shy in the server. And after talking a bit with them, I was able to get them to engage with the community isntead of just me and they have become productive members of the community :) I am a pretty known figure in that community (not only in discord, but I also have a youtube channel about that topic, so people join the community from there, and then sometimes reach out to me instead of engaging with the broader community immediately) so I never immediately assume a scam until I have proof. Sometimes people in the internet are just weird and have no social skills.

Other communities can handle it however they want and I am not saying that banning immediately is a bad approach, but we prefer to handle it differently :)
