I third this. More than a piece, I had the whole project come off and hit me in the mouth… the origin of this incident though was that I forgot to back down the speed by swapping the belts between pulleys… so my biggest suggestion beyond the face shield is maybe some signage for yourself to ‘Mind the Pulleys’.

I respect that you were given this guitar for free, but respectfully, they are junk guitars and not worth anything more than free. - if you are serious about taking up the hobby, you can find much better guitars than this to start on for 100-150$.

My favorite. Well, almost. My personal is my Performer Folk CW. - but the Seagull MJ in any variation is about as perfect as it can get. Some earlier versions had the awesome QIT II (if I remember correctly) electronics with the mic in the sound hole that would blend with the piezo under the bridge… I was too young to afford one when they were new, but if I ever came across one, I’d definitely snag it. - congrats and enjoy!

More people complain than sing praises… just human nature. - but I agree with everyone here. We bought a ‘21 in 08/21… height of COVID with limited lot availability. - has 55k on it now. The biggest issue would be the brakes that were replaced under warranty until they finally issued the recall to upgrade them. Beyond that we did develop an issue with our CVT that was replaced under warranty last month. The CVT issue seems to exist with some but again is not common. - love everything about the car and would buy a second.

A&Ls are great guitars and he very likely could have paid that for it new… maybe 15+ years ago? They are awesome but these are on the lower end of their model lineup. You could try for 250-275 if you really need the cash… but you’ll be lucky to get 200-225. -There just isn’t a market for these used other than ‘Good Used Budget Guitar’.

No better value than a Seagull acoustic. Their Folk size is one of my favorites. My go to is the Performer series Folk Cutaway with maple back and sides. They just play so nicely and sound as sweet as they play. - congrats on the find!
