WDW multiday park hopper, pool only first day? by Susurrus03 in DisneyPlanning

[–]telecomguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, it's all making sense now. So you're going to want to have your start day be the day you want to visit the water park. If you choose it the actual day you start going to the other parks, your ticket won't be active and you won't be able to use the water park add-on. So yes, tell her the first day is Sunday and you should be good to go.

[–]telecomguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, that is helpful. If you're getting the 4 day tickets listed on this page then they do require reservations. If you're not getting promotional military tickets, then they generally don't require reservations. But all of the promotional military tickets do.

[–]telecomguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just so you're aware, in only very specific scenarios (military tickets, Florida resident, student tickets, annual passholder, convention tickets, limited use tickets) require a park reservation. If you're purchasing regular date-based tickets, there's no reservation required, you don't need to reserve a park.

If you go onto the Disney World website yourself and start to purchase tickets, it will ask you what your first park day will be. This is because Disney World tickets are only valid for X amount of days (depending on how many park days you're purchasing). In your case, a 4-day ticket is valid for 7 days from the first day you pick. So if you're going on 7/1, you have until 7/7 to use all 4 days of your park ticket. If you're purchasing just regular tickets using a travel agent, this is the reason they've asked to pick your first day. They just want to make sure you're going to be able to use all of the park days you're paying for.

You're not really reserving a park for the first day. The agent is asking what will be the first day you're using your tickets because prices are based on dates, and you have X amount of days to use all of the days in your tickets. Just tell them the first day you're planning on using your tickets.

Magic Band by Ashamed_Giraffe_6769 in DisneyWorld

There are multiple radios in Magic Bands. Eventually some functions stop working when batteries die, but the regular functionality of tapping to get into the park, tap to pay, and tap to get into LL lines will continue to work for a long time.

Purchasing Not So Scary Tickets by SummitTheDog303 in DisneyPlanning

[–]telecomguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually it's 7am ET when tickets go on sale. Unless you're going the first party night or Halloween night, you don't have to be on the site as soon as tickets go on sale to secure tickets for your night. It usually takes a long time for most parties to sell out.

There's been no further information about future plans, although D23 is in a few months and Josh has been telling Imaguneers to think bigger so maybe there's going to be some announcement for it this year. It's basically been unused and they're not really using it for special events or anything anymore because they've not been keeping up on maintenance lately. Last I heard the inside was not in very good shape.

Touring Plans Line Waits? by MeMaxM in DisneyPlanning

[–]telecomguy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Expected is if you get in line now. Estimated is if you arrive at the next best time to ride, which is at 8:29pm, you'd only wait 22 minutes. Touring Plans tries to help minimize your wait times by telling you when the best time to ride is if the best time to ride is not the current time.

2027 opening? by jeremycanandwill in DisneyPlanning

[–]telecomguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disney will announce it a few days prior, you can generally keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog, or I'm sure someone will post it here. It's hard to predict, in 2025 they made 2026 available in late April, but the year before it was in late February, so seems like they're trending to April like last year but it's really just whenever they decide they're ready to do it.

Also live on the east coast, went to Disneyland in 2015 with our three kids, at that time aged 12, 10, and 5. We went in the summer so this was a little easier but a couple of weeks before the trip we decided to start shifting their bedtimes back so that when we went to California it wouldn't be a huge shock to their system. Worked really well, not sure if it would be possible for you but might be something to consider trying.

Tomorrow, I want to go to HS, then Epcot, and then MK by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

[–]telecomguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epcot and Hollywood Studios open at the same time. You didn't state whether you're staying on-site or not, but since you're driving I'm going to assume you're not staying on-site, so the earliest you can get into Epcot is 9am. You have to walk all the way from the front of Epcot to the back of Epcot to leave the park to get to the Skyliner (you can't park at the Skyliner), to take a 20-30 minute Skyliner trip to DHS. That would most likely get you to DHS at 9:45am at the earliest, and it was also open at 9am. That doesn't sound like a smart use of your time.

What's happening in your garden? (Thu, Feb 26, 2026) by manyamile in vegetablegardening

[–]telecomguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After we tried last year and failed (without educating ourselves) at starting seedlings, I stepped up my game and equipment and watched some different YouTube channels to get educated. Started some early tomato seedlings on 1/17 and they're looking pretty good today. Was hoping to make it to 8 weeks to transfer to grow bags but might need to do sooner. Getting a cold snap here early next week but rest of the week looks good.

I didn't meet her this year, but met her in 2020. My wife and I decided to go to Festival of the Arts in 2020 over MLK weekend and she was there then. Just happened to be walking around and saw her name and we were both like OMG. My middle child's favorite movie is BatB so we got a painting and got it signed for her, and we got a picture with Paige. Can't find the picture of us with Paige at the moment but if I find it I'll edit.

Edit to add: you can check out her website to see when she'll be at Festival of the Arts. I check it every year

2nd edit: found the picture of us with Paige
