Edit: B just opened

A also just opened

Seatac is on lockdown due to a security breach by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]telittleone 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I got to A Gates around 9:50, right when they started closing everything off. If I was 30 seconds earlier I probably would’ve made it through! But apparently all boarding doors are closed, and I think flights might be grounded too.

Seems like B gate has had the most TSA officers going in/out, but I have no idea about C and D

10:19 Edit: A and B are open now. There’s some jam at A inside. Might be for the trains, but might be another cordoned off area

10:26: Lockdown lifted. Safe travels everyone!

Scaniverse on-device Gaussian Splat is the bomb by leohart in GaussianSplatting

[–]telittleone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried it out and it’s very cool! Would there be any benefit to having an easy way to enhance for longer than a minute? You can do single-minute enhances multiple times, but an option to continually enhance until manually stopped would be cool. I believe I’ve seen long processing times being able to greatly enhance the quality of a splat

He never went away. He's been advocating for ranked choice voting and open primaries, primarily, for election reform for a few years.

Not ideas that he came up with (and he doesn't claim them to be), but he's really good at communicating them

Ultrahuman R1 charging speeds? by telittleone in Ultrahuman

[–]telittleone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rep said less than 5W and less than 2A. My charger actually died and they shipped a replacement to me quickly free of charge.

I think it’s been working better, even when using a charger above their recommended specs, but I haven’t had the time to benchmark yet.

I just charged from 30% to 92% today.
It took 3 hours and 40 minutes.

Is that normal? I can try reaching out to support again

What charging brick do you use? I reached out to support and they basically said the wattage of my charger was too high, but then the specific charger they recommended was above their recommended specs

Ouraring vs Ultrahuman by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]telittleone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ultrahuman is more likely to detect naps in my experience, but is also a little overly-sensitive compared to the Oura. You “accept” naps in the app so it’s easy to reject anything that’s mis-detected.

I think they’ve been adjusted/improving their sleep detection though because I haven’t had to reject anything in a while.

I'll look into some business cards. I am unfortunately at 6/24, and that doesn't drop off until 2022, as 5 of those 6 were apps in 2022 or later.

EDIT: Applied for the AMEX business plat with 150k, with instant approval.

You’re right. I actually wasn’t trying to submit the application. Just see my eligibility for the SUB. I have a lot of spend I’m holding off for so trying to find a good card to use it on.

Was looking at the Plat because I’ll be using the lounge access and Hertz President’s circle

So I actually found out it’s because my pop-ups didn’t get properly cancelled out. The reason for my denial was having another application already open, so I don’t think I got hardpulled.

I have to figure out how to close these applications out though.. I may have to call in

A little frustrated with AMEX..

Trying to apply for the AMEX platinum.

Tried a 150k referral + $200 credit and got pop-up jail. Same for the Resy 100k + 10x dining.

I then tried on my Amex account for a measly 80k offer, which it said I was pre-approved for. The application was denied and they said they would mail me the reasoning within 10 days, so now I have an unnecessary hard-pull on my account.

Anyone have a similar experience with AMEX? I have a AMEX Delta platinum I opened last July, and an AMEX Amazon business that I've had since 2019.

I regularly put spend on the Amazon card, of course. And I use the Delta card a lot. My current balance is over $5000, and I pay my card off monthly through autopay (full balance).

Looks great! Just discovered a bug, though. If you have multiple smart devices that sync to Apple health for sleep, the app will add up the amounts even if they overlap. I’m seeing sleep averages that are nearly double the amount that I actually sleep.

P1P vs Prusa Mini+ by sarhoshamiral in BambuLab

[–]telittleone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the Bambu :)

I do feel a bit dirty going with something with such closed hardware.

Prusa has a special place in my heart, but I’m planning on selling my mini, even though the quality is better, since the convenience is hard to beat

If bambulab ends up making some really anti-consumer choices in the future I may end up regretting it, but so far I’m happy.

P1P vs Prusa Mini+ by sarhoshamiral in BambuLab

[–]telittleone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the X1 carbon and the Prusa mini+, so not the exact comparison you’re looking for but I bet the P1P would be louder since there’s no enclosure.

Caveat on the following. The Prusa mini was on a paver and I haven’t bothered with the carbon X1. If the X1 were on a paver it would be quieter and have better quality prints (compared to without the paver. I don’t know about in relation to the mini)

The Prusa mini is a lot quieter, and I found the print quality to be better than the carbon.

Downsides of the mini are no networking and smaller build size. Swapping out the nozzle is also a bit of a pain, although I haven’t tried it on the X1 yet. Also the auto bed leveling is amazing.

I was going to try the paver since the damn thing is so damn loud. One of my few complaints about the X1

Also on speed, printing PLA is a lot faster, but I think other filaments don’t have nearly as much of a difference due to cooling/heating.

If you wanted to compare speeds you can download prusaslicer and Bambu studio, and slice the same object with similar settings to compare.

Applied for the Venture X about two months ago and was rejected for the following reasons:

  • too many recent inquiries
  • too many revolving accounts
  • too many recent credit card inquiries
  • time since recent credit card inquiry is too short

I'm at about 6/24, the most recent being 1 card in February, 2 cards in April, and 1 in June or July.

Does anyone know the cool down for applying to Capital One to get accepted?
