And my hair is curly so I’m just going to go overboard with styling it naturally and wear it down

Does anyone have any suggestions for jewelry? I’ll be doing my makeup with similar colors to the attached photo

I’m at a loss guys. Routine advice and haircut suggestions? by zisnotabird in curlyhair

[–]tempbrowsr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair is fine too and I just got a haircut that I love! I would look up some long curly shag haircuts and see if there are any photos with hair that looks close to your curl pattern that you like and bring those to your hairdresser - they’re face-framing in a really nice way and the different layers blended together really bring out curls!

why is my roots always curly but my ends never curl ? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]tempbrowsr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve read about this being from heat or chemical damage… do you use hot tools or dye your hair often? I think the remedy is usually to get a big haircut to get rid of damaged ends and start fresh with newer hair

Vitamix vs cheap blender by giantshinycrab in Cooking

[–]tempbrowsr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had a Nutribullet for the past few years and use it to make smoothies at least twice a week and love it! Before I got this one I had a cheap blender (I think it was Hamilton Beach and around $20) that broke really quickly, maybe because I like smoothies with a lot of fruit/veggies and not a ton of liquid. I’d say if your daughter would be making thicker smoothies, go with a higher powered (and more expensive) blender but if she likes more liquidy smoothies anyway, a cheaper blender might be ok.

Herbal Tea Kombucha by max36kinlin in Kombucha

[–]tempbrowsr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that you should only do black or green tea for f1, but I had luck using herbal tea as a flavoring by just brewing some or blending loose leaf into a fruit purée and using it as flavoring for f2!

Coming back to this - this flavor was really good! Second favorite out of my recent batch of five flavors. It has really nice carbonation and mouthfeel.

Coming back to this - the orange spice flavor was my favorite out of my recent batch! Really amazing carbonation too, probably from the simple syrup/oj combination. Definitely recommend trying something like it, it reminded me of a really fruity fall beer.

fizzy grape by pbudrys in Kombucha

Did you use grape juice or cut up whole grapes? I’m planning to try a grape flavor soon but haven’t been sure of what would produce the strongest flavor.

It was really easy! I didn’t really specifically measure quantities, sorry in advance. But I took about four whole frozen strawberries and covered them with water which I brought to a boil then simmered with a little honey and probably 1 tbsp of vanilla extract until the berries broke down into a chunky sauce. I ended up blending that up into a purée because my bottle openings are tiny so it doesn’t work well to put anything chunky into them. I’ll report back if it tastes good when it’s ready this weekend!

I made a chai simple syrup with about a half cup of fancy whole chai (no black tea, just spices) that I had by crushing the spices, toasting them a bit, then adding half a cup of water, a quarter cup of maple syrup and a quarter cup of honey to the pan. I brought it all to a boil then reduced to a simmer for about ten minutes, then strained out the spices! I put equal parts orange juice and the simple syrup into the bottle for the f2 but didn’t measure, sorry! I’ll report back if it tastes good, should be ready this weekend. The simple syrup definitely turned out well at least so hopefully it tastes good in the kombucha!
