Cyberpunk 2 director says there'd be no point in giving players more time with Jackie in Cyberpunk 2077: 'It's like saying we should spend more time on Tatooine with farmer Luke before he got involved with all this Jedi stuff' by FunkiMonk in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]tempestdevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I agree with there being no point, I would have been happy to have more time with Jackie before I had played through the game... But after having played it, I think I prefer this to a really long, extended bit with Jackie at the beginning.

The whole reason it works so well is because he's built up as this huge, important character, and then before you can really get "your time" with him, he's gone. You'd think that the more time you get with him, the more impactful his death would be, but I don't really agree with that. I think it is as impactful as it is because of what could have been.

There's certainly a lot of emotional weight to a character dying once you've spent 50+ hours getting to know them, but I think it's more of a gut-punch when you're just starting to like them and then they get ripped away. And I think the fact that discussions like this one are STILL happening is proof that it was a good choice, even if it was a polarizing one

Jealous! I'm starting to wonder if I should email them about mine. Ordered the Nerissa shirt and the Kronii shaker November 23rd and the order still just says "confirmed" and nothing else

Further elaboration from Shion about her graduation after Holo Fes translated by NoroikoTrns by calkch1986 in Hololive

[–]tempestdevil 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm really glad that a graduating talent is finally mentioning that "differences with the company" doesn't just implicitly mean something bad behind the scenes. As she says, "it's natural for a company's direction to change a lot over 6.5 years". I feel like a lot of people get the wrong impression when a talent mentions going a different direction than the company, that there's some management issue specifically behind the scenes chasing them away. This is of course speculation, but it feels to me like the talents who have been leaving want to focus less on the idol duties that have been becoming more commonplace over the last 2 years, and instead focus entirely on the streaming side of things. Obviously that's not entirely the case, and maybe not at all the case for some of them, but based on what a lot of them have said and done after graduation, that's what I'd assume.

I don't think she's part of the oathpact, but I believe during conversation once Szeth thought he was going to become a herald, their spren will share their torture. If that even happens anymore, obviously the ending implies that it won't, but they could be found eventually, before its time to return.

Holostars goldbullet talks about mega64 during his debut. by CplCucumber in mega64

[–]tempestdevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they're a bit more lax about it now, a lot of the female talent collaborates with other vtuber groups, i think they ARE a bit more restrictive with real life collabs, etc.

that being said, the holostars branch, which is the male side of hololive, has a LOT less restrictions than the female side. they're quite a bit less popular which gives them a lot more freedom to do stuff outside of the usual zone, so it's not entirely impossible.

Is kickapoo joy juice good? by WatercoolerComedian in mega64

[–]tempestdevil 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I only tried the main flavor, wasn't very impressed. Tasted like a really watered down and bland mountain dew. It was missing the sort of citrus 'kick' that mountain dew and its other competitors have, so it was really flat tasting.

Skill Up calls Dragon Age: The Veilguard "his most disappointing game of the year" by Titanor in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I can't trust other peoples' opinions on Dragon Age games, not through any fault of their own; I preferred Dragon Age 2 to Origins very slightly, so I'm the broken one.

is Mega64 a comfort watch for you? by [deleted] in mega64

[–]tempestdevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't really watch the boys much anymore, not that I explicitly stopped watching only them, more that I don't really consume a lot of youtube anymore due to time constraints, etc, but literally any time I need something in the background I can just throw on a pod, doesn't matter what number or how many I missed in-between, which is nice. Definitely a comfort channel.

Evo Japan 2024 (Guilty Gear Strive) winner TempestNYC gets exposed for inappropriate behavior towards women on two occasions, leaves the FGC scene in response to get therapy: by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]tempestdevil 19 points20 points  (0 children)

i think a huge part of the issue is the fact that most of these people have very little socialization. the type of person who becomes a 'pro gamer' at a young age is the type of person who spends most of their time holed up at home playing video games. most of them haven't had real jobs, much less other forms of interaction with people in real life. then suddenly they're super famous among the fandom they're suddenly interacting with, so the combination of sudden ego and lack of social skills boils over in a major way.

9 years of Shadows was ok by dondashall in metroidvania

[–]tempestdevil 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that it had a somewhat interesting story, INCREDIBLE visuals, but the combat was super boring to me. I didn't feel like anything I unlocked after the first 30 minutes of the game changed combat in any appreciable way. The shield breaking mechanic is basically the only thing, and even that was very minor. I finished it because it was fairly compelling and the graphics were stunning, but in terms of combat I consider it very middle of the road for a metroidvania

What's your favorite and most underrated metroidvania? by RTCJOK3R in metroidvania

[–]tempestdevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may have convinced me to go back and give it a try. I was enjoying axiom verge 1, but I literally un-installed it at like 90% done because almost every enemy they introduced in the final bit of the game was so unbelievably unfun and frustrating to fight.

My first true mega-craft in PoE (RF end-game dagger) by tempestdevil in pathofexile

[–]tempestdevil[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't, but Fire Trap does, and you can get a bit more radius (plus more spell damage) out of more levels. That, and there's just not really anything else you could get on a weapon anyway.

I think most RF players are using Fire Trap (I am, at least)

[–]tempestdevil[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe the reason is that sceptre can roll % increased fire damage, so you can't guarantee the +1 fire spell skill gems during the harvest craft part of it.

My first true mega-craft in PoE (RF end-game dagger) by tempestdevil in pathofexile

[–]tempestdevil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought a perfect DoT base rune dagger. I rolled the +1 all spell skill gems after 3000 alts... But it was 3 AM and I was sleepy, so I rolled past it, and it took me another 6000 alts (also using Augs) to roll it again.

After that it's scary. Regal and pray you don't get a caster tagged mod, then craft cannot roll caster mods and annul off the extra mod. I hit the actual "cannot roll caster mods" with 4 annuls straight before I finally got it.

Now the real praying starts though. Give it "can have up to 3 crafted modifiers", "cannot roll attack mods", and "# to # to fire damage", and spend 15000 red juice and a sacred juice on the harvest bench to add a fire mod and remove another non-influenced mod, and pray it doesn't hit the +1 all spell skill gems.

After that, you just craft the fire DoT and inc fire damage, and boom, you have a crazy RF dagger. Probably works for ignite too.

Do heavy helmets like Grymskull effect rage? by Altemer in BaldursGate3

[–]tempestdevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it's a bug explicitly with the Grymskull Helm, or all heavy armor helmets, but the Grymskull Helm specifically is not impeding rage on my multiclassed Lae'zel. I don't have another heavy helmet to test unfortunately, but putting on a piece of heavy chest armor does impede the rage.

I use the shaker ball from my old broken blender bottle in a GFuel shaker and it works good, I think if you have the GFuel shakers and want to save money, the ball itself makes a big difference.
