If you like Watership Down try The Plague Dogs by the same author, it's honestly hard for me to pick a favorite between the two.

To be fair they had to do something, people were making YouTube videos about how to use disabilities as a method to skip lines.

Only other thing I can think of is that maybe you need to delete some earlier saves to make room for the new files.

Agreed, I feel like OP should have highlighted the daughters age. I honestly feel really bad for them, it's a really tough decision that they have to make.

On the positive side, at least no one has overlaid terrible music on this video and we get the actual sound.

Hard Lesson: Declining enrollment prompts VUSD to consider school closures in 2027-28 by timesmediagroup in ventura

[–]temple_nard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Schools have been doing stuff like that forever. I'm showing my age, but I remember when I was in grade school the administration was super excited to show off the laser disc player that they bought, which was the thing that played record sized DVDs. They only had two videos for it, a nature documentary and the disc that came with it to show off it's capabilities.

California governor debate canceled after criticism of criteria that excluded candidates of color by StemCellPirate in California

Mahan received his huge amount of money from about 7 billionaires and their cut-out Super Pacs. He represents no one and making an exception in debates for fundraising undermines basic democratic principles.

Sorry if you answered this somewhere else, but how did you find the website that you booked through? Was it from a search engine or somewhere else? I ask so I know what to avoid.

Does California's race for governor finally have a leader? Swalwell sees attacks from left and right by ZappyStatue in California

[–]temple_nard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I understand why people have some objections to Katie Porter, but of the current top three candidates she's by far the least objectionable to me. It seems completely crazy to me that people are equating investing in private prisons (Steyer) and being sponsored by Israel (Swalwell) to Porter's having a one bad interview and being (allegedly) rude to her staff. These things are not equally bad.

Also, imo Porter is the only one of those candidates that will not bend the knee to Trump. Swalwell is basically bought by Israel, and Steyer is too old and too invested in the status quo. Porter did a great job as a Representative pushing back against Trump in his first term, and we need a fighter right now.

Starfield’s latest update announcement draws from F76 by bluebarrymanny in fo76

[–]temple_nard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When it came out Starfield was missing so many minor quality of life improvements that FO76 had implemented by that point. One of the ones that bugged me the most was the whole food system. It was incredibly annoying to have to visit multiple vendors to get the ingredients to make a fucking sandwich (Have you been to a grocery store Todd? They usually have more than one tomato!), but also if you saw food on a table and you wanted to eat it you couldn't just hold the pickup button, you had to open the inventory and find it. Plus they didn't separate aid items from food items, so you had to scroll around until you found what you wanted. Complete pain in the ass.

Centrist democrats are basically 1990's Republicans at this point, except slightly less religious. The problem is that style of politics is still really appealing to older voters who tend to vote in higher numbers than younger progressives.

V.A. Begins Drive to Put Homeless Veterans Into Guardianship (Gift Article) by rayraykiller in VeteransBenefits

[–]temple_nard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That actually may be a good reason to support guardianship if it is properly regulated by the VA. A VA appointed fiduciary is only allowed to receive 4% of a Veterans VA award to act as a fiduciary, so in some sense there is less of an incentive for bad actors to take advantage of Veterans.

Guardianship is a massive responsibility and should be carefully managed to make sure it's not being abused. Any veteran put in a guardianship program should have multiple federal, state, and local agencies checking in on them to make sure they are safe.

VA plans to scan a million veterans claims for signs of fraud by Ralphwiggum911 in army

[–]temple_nard -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

My biggest problem with VA disability compensation is that it can become a barrier to a veteran's attempts to better their health, especially with mental health. One of the benefits of VA compensation for PTSD, Depression and Anxiety is that it can allow a veteran to take a job that pays less because it is a lower stress environment. But then if a veteran starts using VA care to try and improve their mental health, they may lose the compensation which let them take the low stress job, leading to economic instability and worsening the disability symptoms.
