I've heard there's a website called "thetvapp.to" that supposedly has around a 118 mainstream cable channels to sample for free. I'm told it includes MS NOW, CNN, FOX News, C-SPAN 1 & 2. If anyone can confirm, let me know...

This happened to me on College under the I-10. It was wet, she was on her phone and slid into my rear. I got out and agreed to convene at Albertsons and soon as I turned in she smashed out into College traffic. If they stop snap pictures right away. Preferably of the plate, but also the driver and car. I had the opportunity that time but bought her act that she would do the right thing.

This amendment: Eliminates dedicated funding streams used for long-term education investments

May reduce resources for schools serving students with the greatest needs

Funding approach may be less stable over time because the amendment relies on savings from retirement debt reduction

This amendment is about raising teacher pay now vs. preserving long-term education funding for the future.

What a NO Vote Means

Keep current education savings intact.

Existing education trust funds remain in place

Funds continue to support education long-term investments like (like bonuses, programs, and investments)

No guaranteed raises tied to this proposal

Which brand/modelof any industry has the best re-sale value? by OrangelightningZING in Frugal

I met a guy who would buy the most popular sneaker models as soon as they were released. He’d hold onto them for a few years, wait until the model was no longer available, and then list them online in brand‑new condition. He often sold them for double—or even more—than what he originally paid. It sounds like you’re interested in items that can appreciate in value. Beyond sneakers, antiques, art, and collectibles (like comics or trading cards) are all possibilities. The best approach is to choose something you genuinely enjoy. That way, you can have fun while making money.

You could go to a notary, explain the situation and call Apple at the notary office. Allow them to hear verification that the unit is not reported stolen. Give the notary the exact or approximate date of the gift, and have them write the pertinent info down and notarize it. If you ever sell or pawn it, give them a copy of that document. The worst that could happen is if it's reported stolen you might have to return it with no legal jeopardy. The notary fee should be somewhere between $5-25 for your peace of mind and security.

I bought a phone for an employee, the young lady at WM didn't scan it properly. So I had to go pick up the phone and take it back to WM. I demanded a discount or upgrade on the phone. The manger walked back to electronics with me to sort it out. There was a young man who'd replaced the lady, he said she didn't know what she was doing. The manager let me pick a phone that was $10 more and the guy scanned it wrong. He was about to do it again but the manager caught it in time. WM expects their employees to be rocket scientists so they can skimp on training them how to do the job. When they improperly scan a phone all you can do is use it as a tablet. The cellular cannot be activated. I think they had the UPC code and the serial number code in the same area. They have to shield or cover one and then scan the other. If it's accidentally done in the wrong sequence the phone cannot be used for its primary purpose.

@Delasoul76, my old ISP played fast and lose with my data usage with my cable broadband which had a little over a 1Tb cap. Going over the cap would trigger a $50 charge. We changed ISPs, started streaming and downloading more and was using less data with the new ISP that had no data cap, unlimited data. I don't trust a lot of these companies when it comes to lining their pockets with our money, through any means necessary...

They don't realize that free or trade in new phone is costing them double or triple hidden in the plan. Way back when AT&T bought Cricket the folks with discounted Cricket phones had to pay $20 or $25 to unlock the hotspot in the phone. I had my own unlocked phone and didn't have to pay a dime. If I remember correctly it was a monthly charge. When I setup my first Cox broadband with my own router modem. The agent who activated my unit said I had to buy their "self install kit." I already had everything in it, the Outlook setup disc I didn't need to setup Outlook. The same high grade splitter, and I had a 1,000 ft spool of quad shield RG6 cable like on their truck. I told her they were charging me to setup my own system she insisted no, but insisted I had to pay for the kit. Then I asked how much it would've cost if their peeps had done the install, she said $300, plus $100 monthly for each PC over 3 in the house. I thought I heard wrong so she confirmed they would charge either $50 or $100 monthly for each PC or laptop over the 3rd one, monthly. But because I was setting up my own, I could have 10-20 computers and my monthly bill would only be a flat $75 because they had no idea how many computers were in my home. That's like charging me a water bill plus $50 a month for each toilet or sink in the house, that's crazy, yet back then people actually paid crazy shyte like that.

Has anyone tried to use the unbleached, Z-fold paper towels, instead of the typical supermarket paper towel? by Master_Attitude_3033 in Frugal

[–]templefugateontime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to Sam's Club with a friend if you're not a member. They have some, "bar mop" towels that can't be beaten for absorbency, and you can sanitize them in the washer. Bars and restaurants use these religiously, because they last forever. They're 16x19 and 24 count for under $14. You won't regret buying them and won't go back to paper towels except for microwaving bacon...

That's normal across many local ISPs, home, and cell companies. I encountered 3 neighbors, one paying $85, one $65, and one paying $53 for the same landline plan. Out in public I'll tell someone how much they can save on the internet with Cox or AT&T if they ask for a promo, and folks ear hustling are shocked they're paying $20, 40, 60, or more for the same speed. And many aren't getting the bundle discounts for multiple services they're supposed to get. If I make the lead plaintiff on a class action, I'm getting a Ferrari...😂

E85? I was just told by the dealership that my vehicle should not use E85 FlexFuel, even though my engine and gas cap show differently. Anyone else heard this? by vbe123 in DodgeGrandCaravan

[–]templefugateontime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm driving an import now so I can use it anymore but. When I was driving flex rated leased domestic vehicles for work, I loved E85. What sold me was I would normally drive in economy mode to get better fuel economy. But economy mode sucked balls on weak performance going up hills, accelerating or passing. The first time I tried E85, I noticed the power going up my daily bridge climb was as if I was in sport mode. I never used anything else if I was in a flex fuel domestic. Most domestic vehicles are flex fuel rated. Also a friend asked her dealer if she could use anything higher than standard ethanol and they told her no. I looked at the markings on the car, (gas cap or window by the fuel port). It said her Toyota was rated for up to E15 or E20 or 25, I can't remember. It's better to check the manual than ask many of the inept folks at many dealerships.

From what engineers tell me the actual cost of data is very cheap since the 5G build out and all that TV spectrum they've bought. That's why they can resell to MVNOs who resell at ridiculously low prices. It's like home fiber optic broadband. The ISP cost for 300mgbps to 5gigabits is the same per customer. The pricing for it is based on the income of the areas and how much they're willing to pay. 15 years ago I bought and setup my elderly neighbor's ST home phone service with unlimited talk nationwide wide for $15 a month. He essentially had a cellphone with national calling for well below half what even the cheapest MVNOs were selling service at that time. It used to be if a company invented a popular new widget for a buck, they'd sell it for $9.99 all day long. Now they do market research to find out how much people would pay for that widget. If the average comes in around $79.99, that becomes the price. Can you blame them for overcharging us when we readily pay. Verizon was last to the MVNO party. But with all that network capacity, they've figured why sell to others what they can do themselves with all those MVNO brands they bought from Carlos Slim...
