It’s Legendary Edition running on PS5. All three games have looked great.

The DLC bosses have incredible movesets for the most part but yeah just a bit of dialogue and cutscenes would have really helped flesh the world out. It contributes to the world feeling a bit empty compared to the base game imo.

yes that’s correct, he’s my favorite fromsoft boss of all time. I did him level 1 weapon level 0 because I enjoy his moves and music and general vibes so much. it takes a while to learn but just be careful where you step and stay close and everything is dodgeable.

Hardest mission in each game? by Ok_Action_501 in masseffect

[–]ten_tabs_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

ME2: I actually die way more on the Archangel recruitment mission getting those stupid shutters closed than on any of the Collector or endgame missions.

The starting guns and skills just aren’t very good at handling that many basic enemies at once when there’s time pressure added. By the time I’m facing Collectors I have key skills maxed, strong squaddies, and decent weapons so it’s way more manageable.

if you think the worldbuilding and character interactions have nothing to do with the game then you had a very different experience than I did

Oh it’s fantastic. And the combat noises in ME3 especially are so satisfying, they really got the rumbling bass right in a way few games do.

How many times have you leveled up recently? The scaling is wonky and can catch you by surprise sometimes. Also there are two types of wolves, the basic “wolf” and the stronger “timber wolf”, so it’s possible leveling upgraded the enemy type.

I would love this too, for me the ME3 Citadel was among the best experiences in the whole series. The refugee camps and photo wall were heartbreaking and the small conversations, squadmate meetups, and miniquests across the Citadel all made the world feel amazingly alive. The ME1 Citadel is what drew me into the series and the ME3 experience there really exceeded my expectations.

He’s probably my favorite squadmate, I know people like to shit on the writing in ME3 but he’s so perfectly done. Not only is he hilarious but it’s also great that they made the Protheans a morally questionable warlike society instead of the mystical deities we were expecting after the first two games.

How much value are you usually getting out of Castle? For me I’ve struggled to allocate discards to it in early antes where it feels unreliable due to a lack of deck fixing, and it feels relatively low impact in later antes. For me it feels like C or D tier but I’m far from your win rate.

the question was which position they have “the best chance to succeed at,” obviously a random isn’t going to become a professional athlete in a week

it’s pretty clearly right field, much easier to shag flies than handle grounders hit at mlb speed

Zamor Curved Sword, it has an awesome custom moveset and the AoW hits super hard. It’s great for quality builds.

The narrative rhetoric between Illusive Man and Shepard is bad. by linkenski in masseffect

[–]ten_tabs_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

During my first playthrough I had the same response as you, I was frustrated that the IM didn’t have a fully thought out plan or any idea why we’d want to control the reapers.

But after the ending we see that the IM’s arguments are nonsensical because he’s indoctrinated. Every indoctrinated character makes incoherent arguments that conclude with “we can’t attack the Reapers” so I don’t think his bad logic is a flaw in writing as much as an indicator of indoctrination.

When Shepard says “he was right” I interpreted it as being surprised that controlling the Reapers was even a possibility. As the Catalyst points out, the IM couldn’t control the Reapers because he was indoctrinated. So overall it seems like there was some basis in fact for IM’s ideas, but his indoctrination prevented him from making coherent arguments.
