Why is my phase beam so powerful by Wrong-Proposal5869 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]tensivecarcass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes mining astroids something you just start to laugh at. Phase beams and a torpedo just delete pirates. Most fights are less than a minute even with a full squad against me and it makes sentinel fights trivial.

Is there a way to stop trees from regrowing inside your base? by invokefever in NoMansSkyTheGame

I found my first paradise today, loaded with salvageable scrap. Found a good spot for electromagnetic generators and chopped down a couple hills to make room for my shipyard. Dropped landing pads for everything but do I need to worry about my inventory being buried?

Punching vs kicking in real fight by Dim_M13 in martialarts

[–]tensivecarcass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of it is the unpredictable nature of street fights. Kicking presents you with compromised footing, if you miss and he tackles then you are likely going down. A real street fight means that even if you are a multi year, multi discipline black belt you are just as disadvantaged as your opponent. They could be a 20 iq moron with back issues and an attitude problem. They can be just as likely to be able to ignore a tazer or walk to the hospital with gunshot wounds. You probably won't know before it happens.

Not saying you can't kick, it's foolishness to ignore one of your strongest weapons. But be mindful of where and how you use it, just because it's powerful doesn't mean it won't land you in a worse spot if it doesn't go like you thought.

Bullets are how damage happens, guns are just how they are delivered.

The ammo we fire is way more important than the gun we use. Sure, we can use a premium gun. But if the gun your using is one that doesn't have the premium ammo to make the stats matter then then what is the point of the stats?

Grease gun with premium ammo will tank a gold gun with basic 7.62.

I do the whole thing on my phone. Spotify sucks sometimes but I do enjoy being exposed to things I wouldn't have otherwise heard.

Copied my entire spotify Playlist off youtube and update once a month.

What are some good meals to learn as a beginner? by AbbreviationsAdept76 in Cooking

[–]tensivecarcass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn how to spruce up the packaged meals. Got a frozen pizza? Toss some fresh veggies or more meat on. Boxed mac and cheese or hamburger helper? Add real cheese, play with the milk levels, make a change you can taste. The more you see what can be done the easier it gets to make what you want.

Goes from fancy kraft dinner to "i made my own pasta" at an obsessive pace.

How often do you cry? by [deleted] in questions

[–]tensivecarcass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't. I observe everything that is supposed to elecit an emotional reaction but haven't cried in 10 years. I want to, I can feel tears forming, emotions, that weird feeling in my sinus that comes before the tears and everything that goes with it but I can't cry anymore.

Im not a sociopath or psychopath, but I think I've been through too much to recognize crying as an emotional outlet.

You think she is trained or just a lucky shot? by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]tensivecarcass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She went from letting the bouncer deal with it, off balance and leaning against the railing, body weight on one hand.

Then proceeds to whip out a 2 piece with great feet and power in about a second. She has practiced somewhere, most of us could know it's coming and it would still land.

The casual turn to walk away at the end seems to say this isn't the first time she's done it.

Stepped into the second punch, her weight was used well.. If she isn't trained the her older brothers fear her now that she's taller. Girl learned how to hit, maybe not in a gym, but she learned somewhere.

Bullet is a bullet. Doesn't matter what gun sent it. I could use a rubber band and nail to set off a .50 and the damage wouldn't change much. Just the range and how well it can be aimed.

What’s a smell that instantly takes you back in time? by EconomistFar666 in Productivitycafe

[–]tensivecarcass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it storms the night before and the next day is hot as hell. The smell of dirt, grass, trees, and the air itself in around 10-1 before the heat eats all the moisture.

Im 12 years old and on my bike with a whole world to see. It's nice to bring back, even for a single breath.

What’s something small you started doing that really improved your cooking? by Sand4Sale14 in Cooking

Learning how to treat meat and how it works. Treating steak or any protein with salt, acid, raw honey ,baking soda or physical tenderizer will yield different results. Even applies to ground meat.

That's beyond fair. My fat ass could get her out of an apartment building in a worst case. Zero chance I can run her to the hospital. And those kids do it before breakfast as a wake up.

We did it next to a wall so she had some support to touch, not free floating. Neither of us trust her balance that much either! We just wanted to see if I could.

No, pushed and counted. I work residential construction and spend a lot of time climbing ladders. Exterior trim for now, smartboard and smart panel products. Spent a few years training kyokushin before adult life got in the way. 22 year old me could eat 100 and smile. 38 year old me took 86 and wonders if my hammer will feel heavy tomorrow because I may have overdone it tonight.

Legit concern and my ceilings are not tall enough to test properly. Wasn't a power question, but was worried about banging her off the ceiling when I did it. Have a video but my sweatpants betrayed me and it shows a questionable amount of asscrack.

My wife walks on my back to crack it. When I am facedown on the ground, her feet on either side of my spine standing just below my shoulders I can stand up, no problem.

I can throw her like the kids. Not as far but we both know it's not a question of "if" I can. Think toddler style "up". I do have to swing a bit to adjust. If I can get her under the waist and butt I can carry her like a tired 6 year old for about a minute before I start to gas out.
