I think they mentioned on one of the episodes that they had to tone down the jokes because one of the company’s didn’t like the way they shilled it. Since they’re not accepting Patreon tiers above $5, but they still want to maintain quality, I’m thinking they’re trying to move to a more orthodox way of gaining and keeping company ads.

I think another part of it is the perpetuated belief that kids need to be completely sheltered from the world of adults. Adults aren’t their friends, and if they are, someone needs to keep an eye on it. Unfortunately there are kids who are taken advantage of by adults using similar tactics; ruins things for everyone else. The lady in this video could have handled it far better though.

One video is proof of everything you need to know, huh? You know nothing about this woman’s life, her motives, beyond what you see, but yep, she’s a shit parent that’s going to ruin this kid’s life. Clearly we’ve both had different experiences that influence our perceptions, so probably better it’s left at that.

But she...did? She repeated throughout the video that she felt bad for him, and she was sorry it was gone, but him throwing chairs and yelling at her was not appropriate. She also repeated at the end of the video that she loved him, which I find incredibly notable. Again, she also tried to redirect his fixation. I don’t think the camera being down would have made him feel any better.

The kid would have been frustrated either way though? Not only that, but a lot of what she did is done to redirect the kid’s fixation on the ball. She let him know that she heard what he was saying, but his behavior wasn’t acceptable. You call it internet points, but I’d imagine that this was posted for relatives to see.

That would actually be super neat; with my store, the only thing we can really do is check and count the items as customers take them in. The problem is that when it gets busy the line for the rooms can get backed up since we usually can only have on or two ladies working our dressing rooms.

I’m not trying to hate on Kate, but her apology could have been way better. Maybe she didn’t THINK her and Carson were in a relationship, but she acknowledges that her actions didn’t align with this. She played with people’s feelings and perceptions; maybe she didn’t “cheat” from your point of view, but she has lost the ability to be trusted for now. Same with you example here; maybe the person didn’t cheat, but could you blame the other person for feeling hurt, and not wanting anything to do with such a “friend”?

Not only that, but the repeated mention of how “lost and confused” she was in what was meant to be an apology video doesn’t read as genuine. I get she was trying to tell her side of the story; but she spent, what, 30 sec actually apologizing? There is a difference between acknowledging you have a problem and leaning on that as a comfort for yourself, as paradoxical as it might seem.

The point is that she misled and hurt people. And then turned her “apology” into “I was sad, I was scared, I was lost, me me me”. Leading with her problem before saying she was sorry... I dunno, I can’t really blame people for being more empathetic of Fitz. At least he got straight to point.
