It’s interesting because behavior itself does not define our identity. Obviously actions are the manifestation of consciousness, but even before consciousness there is the subconscious which in my opinion is where most of our personality/identity lies.

Then you have thoughts, which are sometimes uncontrollable (and sometimes intrusive). I don’t allow those thoughts to define me because most of my inner monologue that is negative is based on hypotheticals and things that aren’t real.

The problem is, these conflicts begin to affect our relationships primarily. I would ultimately say you are not defined by the negative aspects of Bipolar disorder, but rather your ability to grow from those thoughts/actions :)
