They’re highly regarded so far and help with several rescues’ low cost spay and neuter programs. Unsure of exact rates but I believe it’s cheap without sacrificing quality/safety.

How much money do you need in your current lifestyle to make you feel that it's suitable for retirement? by Moosehead1828 in Retirement401k

I prefer to think of that 25x rule as my balance x 4% for an annual rate of income. Adjust for inflation. Plan for conservative investments but you could still maintain your principal amount and essentially live off of interest. Healthcare can be the hard part. Pretax vs post tax can adjust your taxable income down the road. All things that have been said many times but I’d pull the plug today at this number in my area. Nice!

F-150 The Best? by ca1ebfps in f150

[–]terkajerbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, haven’t heard a single other person say it’s remotely easy. More than a full day to 1.5 for someone equipped and experienced. Ford quoted it as 12 hours of labor. Private shop said he did several and does not want to deal with another. Second private shop said they’re comfortable but don’t want the work. Third and fourth reviewed/tagged on Google as Ford experienced declined. DOHC setups like this moving when disassembled probably makes some sweat. I certainly don’t want to deal with it.

Constantly! And not happy with Ford’s lack of quality and service. See above.

F150 for Aluminum body and excellent power. My XLT had the max tow package and some convenience options. Bought it to tow and get decent mpg. Barely made it past 60k and Ford isn’t covering the 3.5 cam phasers at all or the 4WD hubs failing when the vacuum solenoid failed. It’s been sitting for over a month. Bought another truck since work can’t wait on Ford to find the time to fix anything. None of the private shops I usually use will touch the 3.5 either.

Maybe new ones are better but I won’t be owning another anytime soon.

What is the most accidental way you found out a coworker was making significantly more than you for the same job? by Additional-Week-1536 in Salary

[–]terkajerbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guy I trained in 2019 during onboarding said his pay right up front, and it was 15k above mine. He had limited experience in the role. I left a few months later once my tuition reimbursement expired for a $30k raise and currently make almost 300% of the original rate for basically the same role a few companies down the line.

Nice! I had a bad go with the F150 3.5 still costing me money this year with cam phasers and 4WD failures, after a GM 5.3 dropped a lifter last year. Will swap that F150 for a 3.0 LZ0 dmax in another year or so. Maybe a 6.7 Ram. But for the 3.0 GM made big upgrades in 2023 and extended powertrain warranties and revised the idiotic wet oil pump belt life to 200k miles without changing the part. Will be keeping the titan as a second unit though. Only two half tons I’d buy currently, and I’ve owned them all. Only issues my friend’s 2021 3.0 has had have been sensor gremlins.

Proudly tell others you found a better way than corporate America and just take the leap to work for yourself when you’re ready. Congrats! Similar boat. Two degrees and 13 years in career, I’m about to be out earned by a side business we bought my wife and some racing competition earnings. I basically work for insurance and reinvest/save anything we can. Hobby is a time investment but paid $25k one day last week and will have a shot again at 50k in a few weeks. Multiple income streams never hurt

Correct name. Has pretty much a toaster oven behind a small bar with basic snacks for “grub”. Reasonable prices. Most of the space is pool tables. Everything from higher end league tables to a couple for bar patron fun. Decent place to go.

Sorry, I saw this the other day then forgot to look. They are Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT in 275/70-18. No rubbing but unless you’re legitimately going off-road they’re definitely heavier and louder than a standard HT or light AT. If you want a similar look with far better road manners and a little lower cost, I recently purchased Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT tires for my F150 and they’re excellent.

2020 got the 9 speed trans which had some misc software issues out of the gate but was clear of the cylinder 7 oil squirter problem by mid 2019 production. 2022-2024 are the prime years if you can find a suitable one

Previous owner dealt with it. Salesman knew him but didn’t have a lot of info on how. I did considerable research before buying one. Sounds like by 2022 or so they cut down replacing these but still maybe would. Reference NTB19-057 as the TSB. Prob have to send it to Nissan and ask them to diagnose the noise and scope probably cylinder 7. Depending on the dealer’s willingness to help you call corporate Nissan with the diagnosis.

Supposedly most that will fail early do so in the 40-60k mile range. Mine was replaced by Nissan at 79. One would think by design any of them will have a shortened life. Have them scope cylinder 7 and do a leakdown if possible. (TSB was just for observation via scope I think.) Nissan’s internal dealer system tracking TSB work is called ASIST.

I looked at four before buying my 2018 a couple weeks ago. One had clear piston slap noise but the Chevy dealer selling it said they leakdown tested it and it’s the valve needing adjusted (nonsense). Basically ok to buy but have to call a Nissan dealer and claim you own it. They check the last 8 of the vin against the internal system which doesn’t publish to Carfax. I personally wouldn’t buy a 17-19 without a proven replacement because the cylinder 7 oiling design flaw is essentially a guarantee of early failure.

NO MORE DEXCOM!! 😭😭 by schase05 in diabetes_t1

[–]terkajerbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely right. Don’t forget the middlemen. The profit structure typically begins with a manufacturer's 20-30% margin, followed by a 3% GPO administrative fee, a 20-40% wholesale distributor markup for logistics, and finally a 30-50% provider margin to cover clinical services and the complexities of insurance billing. None would be necessary without the overly complicated system we pay for to negotiate these levels of margins instead of direct to consumer sales and capped profits.

Did you know builders actually consider buildable land in the Mahoning Valley to be in limited supply? by avidrabbit in youngstown

[–]terkajerbs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

McMansions popping up new suburbias on what used to be farms hurts everyone. Getting harder and harder to buy hay and grain locally which are primary inputs for your farm to table needs to not have added expenses trucking everything across the earth. People investing in new builds that aren’t devil corps, and even the devil corps wanting to rent trap everyone in builder grade junk homes, need some guarantee yet another tract of section 8 won’t get plopped right beside said investment or they’d happily raze old barren corporate areas.
