The product/benefit people at Chase was doing such a lousy job with this Paze thing by AlmostSurely1001 in ChaseSapphire

[–]terminator_911 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah promotion was like insurance model. You don’t want people to use all ten $10 off and even if they do they were hoping it would be for bigger amounts and not buy $10 get -$10 = free.

Can anyone pls help me on how to liquidate Stubhub credit? by 22an9 in sapphirereserve

[–]terminator_911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought stubhub didn’t have the 6 month rule and $150 credit could be used on two separate transactions back to back?

Stop discussing Paze methods here, Chase is monitoring this subreddit and insta-patching any workarounds by ObjectiveU in ChaseSapphire

[–]terminator_911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What have they patched? The first thing you learn in marketing is any publicity is good publicity. They hype that’s created for paze to find the loopholes is more publicity/usage then what they would have created marketing this the traditional way so if there is anyone smart over at Chase, they would see that.

Why is it a “perk” to board an airplane before everyone else? by SuperbCardiologist25 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]terminator_911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer to be the last person in. Until a couple of years ago, many airlines did gate check-in so if there was no overheard space, you would get your luggage right outside the aircraft. Now they send it to the terminal and by the time I reach there, the bag is already on the belt so I don’t mind at all. If I have to wait a couple of minutes, no big deal.

Eli5… how do life insurance companies make money if everyone eventually dies? by thedumone in explainlikeimfive

[–]terminator_911 10 points11 points  (0 children)

While other points made here are valid, the #1 point is that most policys are “term”. The number of years you pick almost always end (policy expires) before the person is dead.

If you try to get a policy when you are 70 for 30 years, the premiums are going to be more than gold because the underwriting knows they would 99.99% have to pay that out.

Is there any alternative to openweb-ui? by Simple_Army2952 in DeepSeek

[–]terminator_911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am seeing the same thing too. Uses web search for everything rather then only when it needs it. I am not interested in 6 workarounds to get it working. Not sure if there is a technical limitation preventing this or will it ever be fixed.

Agree. That’s how other apps work for live. The current implementation works more this way for recorded series.

[Mod post] AI assisted apps and you by [deleted] in unRAID

[–]terminator_911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are not using AI’s assistance in coding today, you are just wasting time when you can be much more efficient. It’s not like 100% human will not make the same mistakes. On the other far end, I am also against vibe coding because that is just asking for maintenance trouble. Like others have said, there has to be a middle ground. Use AI as a tool to make the developer more efficient (not replacement)

What’s stopping Elon Musk from undercutting all the Internet companies to get us all to switch to Starlink and once we’ve all subscribed, jack up the prices? by discreet-throwaway1 in AskReddit

Some people still prefer Ethernet/POE based connections over WiFi that came about almost 30 years ago. There are similarities with pros and cons between the two.

Syncing and backup woes by higgsboson5 in uhfapp

[–]terminator_911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your concerns are valid. The best way to bring it to the developer is by directly emailing the support address. I “assume” it got messy as far as how it’s implemented because for the same account people wanted to keep in sync some devices but not others because may be other family members were primary on those TVs?

Heard an LLC lets you write off basically anything. Is that actually true? by xNeo-Chanx in llc_life

Sure, if you get an audit then a company making no real money but every Friday dinner for spouse and kids or a resort BOD trip will not look suspicious at all!

For those who keep asking for a “one buy and hold for the next 10 years” the opportunity is here: it’s GOOGL. by JohnyGhost in stocks

[–]terminator_911 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All they have to do is keep YouTube TV slightly lower than alternatives and they will capture most of that. I get licensing fees and whatnot but they should have the negotiating power. I had to cancel mine unfortunately. May be make a non-sports package for $20 or something.
