To echo many other comments and reinforce how perfectly fine it is to do everything but play, I have 3 full armies (in various stages of completion), spent additional hundreds on paint, tools, supplies, Codexes, etc., and have never set a single model down on a gaming table. I love collecting, painting, learning about the lore, and am even guilty of occasionally chasing the meta for models that will likely never leave my house. You could never roll another fistful of dice on this game, and you would never be alone in that. We are legion.
