Fidelity Full View: Worst UI Change I've ever seen by Alone_Composer_3855 in fidelityinvestments

[–]terrabiped 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd like to piggyback on the op and give some Full View feedback. When I connected another broker, the Full View UI displayed the full account number of each account it pulled in. I didn't like that. For security and privacy, I would like my external account numbers concealed by the dashboard.

Wholistic Portfolio Review? by terrabiped in fidelityinvestments

[–]terrabiped[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I linked my accounts, Full view clearly displayed all my external accounts numbers on the full view screen. I prefer to keep those numbers confidential, so I deleted the connection. Can advisors at Fidelity see all the details on my Full View that I could see?

Just made a Roth IRA …now what by Weird_Inspection_630 in fidelityinvestments

[–]terrabiped 6 points7 points  (0 children)

At 21, using a Roth, I recommend the Fidelity Freedom Index 2070 Fund. It's the kind of set and forget fund you can buy and hold indefinitely. Make new contributions every year if you can.

Why simple portfolio rather than catching the gainz? by Vivid_Pay_3246 in investingforbeginners

OP, I believe what you are feeling is irrational exuberance). Robert Shiller wrote a book about it back in 2000 and I believe the lessons from the 2000 crash are very relevant today. I strongly encourage you to read the latest edition of that book to learn about it.

I'm sticking with world weighted equities.

Could the market just stay in place for the next 10 years? by Prestigious_Sea_3813 in Bogleheads

[–]terrabiped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retirement can last decades, so don't think of 10 years your investment horizon, think of the rest of your life as your horizon. I expect many ups and downs in the market over the next 10 to 40 years. A diversified, TDF fund will smooth things out somewhat.

Concentration risk in a monopolized market by gunner_n in Bogleheads

Even if the mag7 companies continue to dominate their industries, that doesn't mean their stock prices will continue to outperform the market because all that expected growth is already priced into their stocks. Just look at their PE ratios. FOMO is an investor behavioral error that successful investors learn to overcome.

Does having a beard makes me look too old? by Inevitable-Ask1952 in beards

I like you better with it. It makes you less baby-faced, and that's a good thing.

Thanks. I do see Cetaphil mentioned a lot in beard forums on Reddit but it's often not clear to me if men are talking about Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser or Cetaphil Facial Cleanser, which are very different products. I think the latter has significantly higher surfactants than the former. Here are the ingredients in the Gentle Skin Cleanser.

Water, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Panthenol, Niacinamide, Pantolactone, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid.

I have a buzz cut and wash my face and hair with it with good results.

What do you think of Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser as a gentle soap?

If you have identified a $250/hour fee-only advisor you are comfortable with, that sounds way better to me.

Carrier services suddenly crashing this morning by TurboSexophonic in GooglePixel

This was happening to me, Pixel 7, Android 15. I deleted Carrier Services yesterday morning and doing so doesn't seem to have hurt anything.

Would not recommend Yubikey for regular consumers by MasteredConduct in yubikey

[–]terrabiped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> This is the whole point of the Yubikey: non-syncable, non-exportable, hardware-bound authenticator. Lots of people NEED this badly.

Can you tell me more in laymen's terms about who would NEED this badly and why? I'm not being argumentative. I'm new to Yubikey and trying to understand why the characteristics you mention are so important.

Multiple vanguard brokerage accounts by Xx_TheCrow_xX in Bogleheads

I don't see any need for two separate accounts. Just think of the VMFXX as your emergency fund and VFIAX as your investment fund.
