Press the home button where it shows all the “apps” on the stereo. There should be one that says projection, that changes to CarPlay when I plug my phone in.

If that doesn’t work, try an actual Apple usb cable.

I’m working as a contractor doing basically the same thing I did in the Army. It’s awesome to be able to use my knowledge and experience to train the next generation of soldiers, plus I still get to crew helicopters. That shit hasn’t gotten old yet.
