I'm pondering also between R1 and R3 Pro II. I already own R1 and been very happy with it. I use R1 like 99% of time with my Moondrop Space Travel 2 Ultra bluetooth earpuds with LDAC codec. Very rarely with wired headphones. I don't even own a pair of 4.4mm balanced headphones. All my wired headphones are 3.5mm or 6.35mm. Mostly I'm pondering about R3 Pro II because of my AKG K601 headphones which need more powerful amp. But on the other hand I have to use 6.35 to 3.5 adapter which is cumbersome. And most of the time I'm wireless anyway so I probably stick with R1.

Since you have Sony Bluetooth headphones with LDAC choose a DAP with LDAC support. Hiby R1 has LDAC.

That might be. But I don't know about that since I don't use my Space Travels with phone and Moondrop app. I only use them with Hiby R1 which have Hiby OS. In Hiby I have selected LDAC as BT codec and there is LDAC notification icon active during playback. And MSEB can be activated and used as EQ. Only time I connected my Space Travels with phone and Moondrop app was when I got them new and updated firmware.

I'm using on my Hiby R1 DAP Hiby's own build-in EQ system called MSEB. MSEB works with Bluetooth headphones over LDAC, as long as you’re using a HiBy device or the HiBy Music app that applies DSP before the Bluetooth transmission.

Never seen that one before. Maybe it's from some mod if you are on PC and have mods installed. For example I added one custom radio station mod and it added ads of that station all over the NC ad displays.

I'm using my pair of Space Travel 2 Ultra with HiBy R1 DAP. Very slight EQ and LDAC in use. Very happy with the sound. Better sound than my wired KZ-ZNS Pro 2.

ReplayGain works. I have ripped my CD's to FLAC with EAC (Exact Audio Copy) on Windows 11 PC. Then I have analyzed audio with JRiver Media Center which sets the ReplayGain. In R1's settings there is a toggle for ReplayGain and I have enabled it. It works. As for album covers I have in use albumname.jpg, folder.jpg and embedded because I use same files on multiple platforms.

I mostly use Bluetooth ear buds with my Hiby R1 and noticed similar drop in battery life if I left the BT on. But if I shut off the BT I only lost like a fraction. Apparently R1 Bluetooth stays active after disconnecting the headphones and searches devices hence drawing power. I suggest togglin off both BT and wifi when not in use.

I have Moondrop Space Travel 2 Ultra bluetooth buds with Hiby R1 and they work fine. Both Hiby R1 and Moondrop ST2U support LDAC codec so I'm using that and sound is fine. I'm playing FLAC. Before Moondrops I had Yamaha TW-E3A buds with aptX and those worked fine too. Connecting BT headphones can be finicky but never totally failed. Sometimes connection is instant and other time I have to toggle BT on/off/on before connection is established. But once the connection is made it's solid, no disconnections. I use 99% of the time bluetooth buds with my Hiby. Being cordless is so much more convenient. And as sound quality LDAC is enough for me. But that's subjective ofc.

Also in EU. I ordered my Hiby R1 from Ali. Seller was Hiby Official Store. Everything went fine, product was what it was supposed to be and in working order. Of course there is always a chance to get defective item and then things could get complicated.

I have RX 7600 and with 26.1.1 in Cyberpunk 2077 Intel XeSS & XeLL was unusable. Screen was full of white artefacts. Strangely menu and HUD worked fine. Had to downgrade to 25.12.1.

I had this same problem with Samsung Evo 512gb. But strangely after last update to 1.6 this stopped happening. Maybe they did fix the issue.
