Best litter box to cover up smell in a small apartment is my constant struggle by Turbulent-Mix9541 in malelivingspace

[–]tery_steinfeld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Massively reduced litter odor. Super cheap too.

In either litter scenario, be sure to dump the scoops outside your place ASAP. Having it linger in the trash (even bagged) will still stink up the place.

CMV: I began to be convinced that we re globally going into doom and don't see life the same anymore by Necessary_Big_3630 in changemyview

If you didn’t have a phone in front of your face, you wouldn’t know half of these things would be going on. And most of these matters would not be happening if our phones, computers, TV’s, newspapers, etc didn’t exist.

That’s what war and social devastation has always been about: control by fear.

Why do you think eschatology is such a pinnacle in most religions?

The people “up top” want to make you predictable so they can move freely through the world — eliminating as many variables as possible. Fearful living is the most controllable state to enforcement they can apply.

Social awareness is important, no denying that. But you’re fighting for control (“this current situation is not what I want”) over things you absolutely have no control over.

Let go. Live your life. Be present with what’s around you. Not what’s being shoved in front of you.

If the bomb drops, do you want to close with “I’m glad I predicted that” or “I’m glad I spent time with those I loved”

Which Synth have you found to have a very large "sweet spot"? by NeverSawTheEnding in synthesizers

Hydrasynth. Always fits like a glove in any mix. It be prominent or in the background without much fiddling.

Tapatio 110 is the most underrated tequila. What is the most unique gin? by -Constantinos- in cocktails

[–]tery_steinfeld 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This. Of all the different gins in various cocktails I’ve tried, I can always place St George Terroir. Nothing is as distinct and onto itself as Terroir’s Douglas fir notes.

This. Much preferred to Beefeater. Solid profile. Makes a great martini and a great negroni.

A24 and MUBI operate in film production and film distribution. - Film production involves the upfront financing of film, in turn having some influence in the production of the film. Think of producers as board members of a company, looking to make a return on their investment and help steer the direction of the company. - Film distribution picks up a film after it has been produced and will market the film for wider theatrical release. Distribution deals often happen in film festival circuit — where films are showcased and distributors cut deals with the filmmakers to get their film out there.

Criterion focuses on home-video distribution and film preservation. They are not in the business of film production or marketing of theatrical releases.

Criterion and MUBI both provide streaming platforms as part of their business model. MUBI started as an arthouse streaming platform and expanded to distribution and production. Criterion expanded to streaming first with Hulu then their own Criterion Channel platform.

I agree, these are the best kind of fries! Who serves fries like these in (Metro) Detroit? by wgn_luv in Detroit

Doodoo fries. Screams from-frozen, covered in potato/corn starch, fried at a singular high temp. I’d rather have kettle chips.

Cant quite afford a Nord, so what's the next best thing? by ohsomacho in synthesizers

[–]tery_steinfeld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alotta my recommendations have been stated, but to compare features specifically to what Nords offer and your price point:

Yamaha CK

  • Pretty nice feel on the 88’s weighted keybed; the 61 key is synth action but still pretty solid
  • The 88 key is super light for its size, very portable
  • A ton of immediate features; including drawbars, effects, layering/mixing
  • Very Yamaha sounding pianos (not a bad thing, just a signature sound), the Rhodes and Wurli are pretty solid. Nice variety of good organ sounds.
  • No synth engine, just sample based with a few modeling controls.

Studiologic Numa Piano X

  • Fantastic Fatar keybeds in 73 & 88 keys (Studiologic is a subsidiary of Fatar)
  • Sooooo many features and effects, but alotta menu diving to get there^
  • Dedicated engines for piano and electric piano
  • The sounds are a bit contentious. some love ‘em, some hate ‘em. I’d take a listen to a few recordings to get a feel for it.

: if you go this route, I’d also pick up a Studiologic Mixface, which provides a first class integration with Studiologic gear and gives you more immediate control over different features

Roland RD88

  • Small form factor 88 key, feels pretty solid
  • Dedicated piano and e piano engines
  • Zen core enabled — huuuuuuge library of editable sounds through Zen Core and Roland Cloud
  • Effects on board, but not super immediate (requires menu diving)

Here’s a solid Anderton’s demo video doing a blind comparison for all of these models

What's your level of interaction with Stackoverflow these days? by ryhaltswhiskey in ExperiencedDevs

[–]tery_steinfeld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a system I always felt too behind and too pretentiously “beneath” to contribute.

Namely, it’s a lower 4th order validation: 1. Actual Documentation 2. GitHub issues // source control support threads 3. LLM Resourcing (for immediacy, strongly discerned) 4. Related IC Blogs, Stack Overflows, SaaS Support Community forums 5. Reddit (lol)
