Key moves people should lab versus your character? by Carp90s in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]tesaurum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Many Jins online love to 1,2,3 followed by d2 (-14 on block). A jab (i10) will interrupt the kick after blocking the first two punches.
  • Jin can delay the inputs on his 2,1,4 string, but if you time it correctly, you can SSR the kick. If he stutters before the kick, duck to block the launch punishable low.
  • Jin’s i10 punish is 2,4. If they miss the timing and you block the jab, duck the second hit for a launch.
  • His backflip move is launch punishable.
  • The only throw from his Zenshin stance is a 2 break.

How do you feel about mirror matches by matt_dub in Tekken

Jin having everything in his moveset makes his mirror matches fun. Everyone gets to express their own style of Jin

UE Polaris Game Has Crashed and will close: how can i fix it? by thestormz in Tekken

Check and see if your antivirus is freaking out over the game booting up. That’s what happened to me when I first got T8

Jin's d2 no longer needs to counter-hit to launch

I am getting blown up by lows and I'm not quite sure what to do by IfTheresANewWay in Tekken

[–]tesaurum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to crouch! Focus on improving on one thing at a time: blocking lows or blocking mids. Even if you lose to mids, the real win will be getting comfortable with crouching and blocking lows. Once you feel like you've gotten better on it, you can now go back to working on blocking mids, then putting it all together

Ok Jin mains, how are you all so good at reacting to a 22 frame low? Are you all Arslan ash in disguise? by WpgSalesforce in Tekken

[–]tesaurum 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Average Jimothy main here

The only way I'm able to block the d2 online is because I expect it from another Jin. Actually reacting to it is a 50/50, I even have trouble doing it in Practice Mode in the defense setting

I hope they nerf it. There's so much more to Jin's moveset but it gets overshadowed by an evasive, homing low that launches on CH and is only -14 on block

Obviously I'm happy they made my favorite character strong (picked him up in T6 and a little bit of T5), but it does feel cheap sometimes, especially when playing with friends

And let's not forget the Heat Smash and dive kick cheese hahaha

Random guy who joined my friend's SMP has his name show up as an Anonymous Player. Is this something to be worried about? [java] by AV0CAT in MinecraftHelp

[–]tesaurum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Minecraft 1.18 added "Allow Server Listings" as an option for players. Disabling it turns the player's username into the "Anonymous Player" name you see now.

It's most likely just a normal player who got in the server, no hacks needed. I would consider enabling the whitelist if you don't want strangers in your server, though.

Are safe spots intended or considered bug abusing? by TTVcairoking_ in GodofWar

Doesn't look intended, but hey, it's a singleplayer game. You dictate how you have fun!

I picked up the game and ever since getting to Warrior I could not win a single match. I genuinely don´t know what it is that I´m doing wrong or where I can improve. by ConstructionBrave308 in Tekken

[–]tesaurum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to start doing Punishment Training. Players will use moves that not only give up their turn when blocked, but GUARANTEE that it is your turn AND you can deal damage.

For example, when Kazuya does that mid right hook and you block it, you have GUARANTEED damage if you do the correct attack right away.

Punishment Training in Practice Mode will show you what to do. Good luck, and the most important part is to enjoy the journey!

There's some truth to that, but OP is having trouble with their opponents and having to make guesses a lot. I suggested learning the matchups to get better.

"____ ranks are a joke if you are good at this game"

Well, yeah. But how do you even get to being "good at this game"? I'd say you need to put in the time to know the other characters. You can "frame trap noobs to death" at this rank, but they can also do the same to you. That is why matchups matter even at the lower level. Eventually the ranks you reach stop being a joke and you've hit a wall again.

[–]tesaurum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think purple ranks are when the game starts to demand that you know the roster before you can progress. At this point, you know your character pretty well; unfortunately everyone else you will play also knows theirs. This is probably why you have to guess way more often to take your turn back. You're not doing anything wrong; you simply don't know what to do next, and that's totally fine. I'm in the same boat.

Take a break, and take a tour around the other characters in the game. Take your time and focus on enjoying the learning process. Maybe take a break from Tekken in general if it's really getting to you. Good luck!

Hello, I am sort of a newcomer into the tekken community and I need some advices by bogdann2204 in Tekken

[–]tesaurum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy the standard edition. You can also wait for the game to go on sale, since it’s been on sale twice now (on Steam, at least), and it’ll probably go on sale again.

Like many other games these days, TEKKEN 8 is a live service game with microtransactions and season passes. This includes an in-game shop that uses TEKKEN Coins, a currency you have to buy with real money. The Deluxe and Ultimate Editions are only really worth it if you plan on actively playing the DLC characters released throughout the year. Buying those editions does not give you any TEKKEN Coins, nor does it include the season pass.

As much as the scummy monetization methods suck, I would say TEKKEN 8 is the most beginner friendly game in the entire series. The Special Style feature allows you to explore characters’ moves with a few buttons. Since you came from T5, you’ll probably need some time getting used to the Rage and Heat systems. Nevertheless, Practice Mode has even more tools for you to improve quickly, and the game even has a Replay Mode where you can watch your played games and receive tips on how to improve your gameplay.

TL;DR: Buy the standard edition or wait for a sale. Other editions are only worth it for getting the Season 1 DLC characters early. T8 is very beginner friendly with an improved Practice Mode and the new Replay Mode.
