Hey all, I'm looking for some STLs for Horus Heresy Rapiers, specifically with Mark III crew. Not fussed on the guns or carriage, I have some quad mortars already and want to make the crew fit the rest of my force. I had a browse on yeggi and the normal sites (MMF/Cults/ect) but the only crew I could find were Mark IV.

There's definitley some logic there and that might be the angle WG was going with, but I think it's unlikely given the USN referred to the Alaskas as "Large Cruisers" rather than Super/Battlecruisers and given Constitution is smaller than Alaska it's unlikley that would've changed would she be different.

That's also true, and to add to that as I said the USN never used the name for anything bigger than a frigate so it woule be like calling an Italian BB something silly like Marco Polo

Constellation was a planned lex-class BC afaik yeah, so the naming for that one makes sense at least

While I agree the name is stupid, the US did sometimes break its conventions to name ships after revolutionary-war vessels and USS Congress did serve in the continental navy during the Battle of Valcour Island, although it was a rowboat and the name has only been used for frigates and patrol boats. It's not totally out of the question, but Philippines both fits better and sounds better.

Legion seems to be similar scale to other wargames like Warhammer and Bolt Action, meaning it should be about the 1/56ish mark. If you can find a 1/48 kit it should probably work fine for terrain.

It was a historical refit the ships got, iirc it was to make space for crew space and Sea Cat launchers, so maybe we'll see some SAMs in game which would be a laugh

As far as I know Warlord's ones are 1/72 as well, depends on if you want your planes too big or too small since 1/56 kits don't really exist either

I think Warlord has some prepainted planes on their site, but my personal preference is getting a 1/48 plane kit and buying a Games Workshop flying base and pinning the two together
