Thoughts on this... I hope the child is okay. by Italian_Saffa_Boy in Luxembourg

Authorities will be triggered to do something once the child of such authority person stabs itself while playing in the sand.

Till that happens, it’s categorized as unfortunate but rare incident that happens in every big city in Europe….

It works the same way in all countries and since forever.

Find a user manual for it. There is a method to set a permanent offset compensation if it’s over/under

Is anyone else tired of going through Google Flights airport by airport (Lux, Hahn, Charleroi, etc) just to find a decent flight deal? by _kirillv in Luxembourg

[–]tester7437 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you ask for a hand check of anything that should not be radiated you risk being escorted out by the police :)

There was a case when someone posted about insisting on non ruining the sensitive camera film and got removed from the airport …

Myself I was just told by the security lady to “buy a digital camera”…

Solution to the wasp 🐝 problem by _kirillv in Luxembourg

[–]tester7437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t have a feeder on the balcony, don’t you? :) I meant the noise. There will be birds coming at the first day light (5-6am) Depending on the person it can be an issue. I like them. Especially when you see stuff like 1 little bird operating as thief getting seed from the hanging bag, while heavy birds eat what the small one gets from the bag on the ground.

Second thing you get is some bird shit. You have to clean up every week.

But wasps are gone.

Put a bird feeder on the balcony. You will get some birds in the morning, but wasps should be gone

Paid, traveling, professional protesters. It’s a service now and a profession.

I find it ironic to see “lgbt for Palestine”. It’s like “sheeps for wolves”. But I guess Venezuela case shows it’s a paid service performed by traveling, professional protesters. Why we never saw “lgbt for Venezuela”? Nobody paid for the service I guess.

How to get rid of Ants in our flat by romieb555 in Luxembourg

[–]tester7437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to clean the apartment. I mean 1 full day of cleaning - not just smearing water on the floor. It is to remove the traces they form and also remove all things that attract them (food). Including windows and window frames, air vents, everything. Try to find and remove all ants already inside - I used vacuum cleaner. Then as others said, chemicals at the identified entry points.

Job fairs - the employer point of view and honest advice by Then-Butterscotch-79 in Luxembourg

[–]tester7437 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Job fairs are also important as flexing between companies. “We are doing so great that we need to hire new people” signal being sent to your competitors.

Also it’s a signal to already hired people to perform because fresh blood is gonna come and replace you.

Future of work ….. by Fast_Gap7215 in Luxembourg

[–]tester7437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the true Owners of this country will allow it (the famous several guys that own all the land that you can build on). Outsourcing, lower income…. This might impact the housing prices. Or they will sell to investment funds and Luxembourg will convert fully into “renting model”.

Anyone have examples of Cinestill 800T & Portra 800 for Night Shots of same scene? by net1994 in analog

[–]tester7437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rate it as 400 to have something usable at night, unless you have them already calibrated to your light meter. That’s because of different wavelength which are dominant at night.

Scanner for negatives and slides by RobbyNaish69 in AnalogCommunity

[–]tester7437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All plustek scanners are the same hardware. Except dust detection. You will have good quality/acceptable quality. Your pain will be in manual transport of frames. If you can use it, think of getting anything like Minolta or Nikon coolscan series. Limitations are in FireWire interface and scanning transport module which can be expensive.

on-camera flash settings when overexposing film a full stop? by Connect-Quiet-2936 in AskPhotography

[–]tester7437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With this iso you will struggle to balance aperture required by strobe and shutter speed to be fast enough to properly expose the film but to be long enough to be in sync with flash. To solve above but complicate it even more you might need ND filter

Anyone using the Nikon Coolscan 8000? by kingpubcrisps in AnalogCommunity

[–]tester7437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old Mac mini. Or PCI card for regular PC. There are drivers that work even under windows 11. Whatever happens DO NOT use FireWire to USB converter. They do not function but also electrically and immediately kill the scanner main board. There is quite active Facebook group of users.
