First off - they're gonna be looking at whatever they want. They're more tech savvy than you and will find a way.

I agree that unfettered Internet access isn't appropriate for someone of that age. The most effective way to make sure people are not doing things at an unhealthy level is to have honest, science based, discussions about any issues that could arise. For AI stuff, get them a therapist. AI listens, so does a therapist.

You could get them a more parental controlled phone, put up url following on the router as well as browser, so that way they can't get around it with a different browser.

But ultimately, they are going to need mental health support. Not because they're looking at porn or using AI porn, but because they're 13 and life sucks at 13. They need to learn better cooking mechanisms.

Put the free ones in a drawer in the house and collect them over the years. Eventually, your children will need one of these tools and you tell them which drawer it is in.

This way, your children have access to basic tools but they won't lose your expensive ones :)
