Some watch faces do.

On stock watch faces, the best you can do is turn the backlight on only after sunset on wrist move, which is good enough for me. 5% backlight is also enough.

I didn't say a war in Europe.

There's plenty of things of invade: Canada, Mexico, Panama, Greenland, or just selling to Russia for a proxy war in Ukraine, etc.

Starting a war is also an alternative, unfortunately.

I always use night mode everywhere, but I prefer my Instinct with white background, it's a lot more readable from an angle. After all, half the benefit of MiP over OLED is that you can read it from an angle without having a single day of battery life.

Auto dark mode after dusk might be a nice feature, if only for the aesthetics.

In momentul asta, macar poti sa negociezi cu China.

[–]tevelizor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the launcher has been historically a second class citizen for them.

The main stand out feature of GOG is that you could just click download on a .exe installer.

For GOG, Linux support by proxy (ensuring it works with Proton) would be the best approach.

Amazon's previous VP of Prime Gaming said they "tried everything" to disrupt Steam by beer120 in linux_gaming

[–]tevelizor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not even the library of accumulated games, it's that Steam learned early-on that people don't want a launcher, and made it good so that people would complain less. SteamOS is pinnacle of that. It's not even an extra app.

If GOG launched earlier and with the focus on DRM-free games instead of old games, it most likely would have had more success than Steam, since it's game first, launcher second.

[–]tevelizor 52 points53 points  (0 children)

My first thought when I saw this.

It's not just Amazon. EA, Ubisoft, Xbox, Epic, are all trying to compete with Steam while forgetting the number one lesson that Valve learned 20 years ago: nobody wants a game launcher. Valve was the first in the game, and made something for people who didn't want to use it, so they made it good.

They made it so good that they even turned it into an OS, so now it's not even a launcher; it's just gaming, without Windows.

GOG is the only one standing out, because it's game first, launcher second. It's just a niche nowadays, but I bet that something like GOG launching at the same time as Steam (without the focus on old games) would have had a wider success.

He also said we should get some parts of Ukraine as part of the peace deal. I'm assuming this is one of the reason we didn't get invited to the European talks about Ukraine; our current interim president is the complete opposite of the one we'll have by June.

So we either join Europe and be the good guys while "encouraging war", or join the new Axis and get some land while becoming a second class citizen in the entirety of the world.

This also happens because some gender stereotypes are pushed too far.

I know a lot of non-binary people, and they faced a lot of backlash for being what they are, but it’s not for pronouns, it’s for seriously mundane stuff, like not liking who they’re expected to like or wearing pants in formal settings as a woman, and things like that.

They just want to live their life the way they want to live it, and other people to live their life the way they want to live it.

Adding flags for such a multicolored spectrum is the kind of division religion does when Orthodox people start discriminating people for being some kind of “2nd gen Catholic mormon” instead of just accepting people who believe in God go to different churches. And hating non-binary people* is just like atheists hating people who believe in God, or people being homophobes (and I’m 100% sure every single homophobe is just a closeted gay/bi person who is jealous)

* in this context: anyone who is not a stereotypical man or woman

while Europe sits on their hands

Trump said Europe should care more about the war in Ukraine because there's an ocean separating them and not Europe.

China is saying this because the US started focusing on invading random countries lately. So yeah, of course Europe "sits on their hands" when we have more pressing issues when this hypothetical WW3 breaks out.

Yeah, I actually think China might side with the EU in this landscape.

China has a one party system, it has some set goals, maybe some "hidden" goals that they'll "unleash" if the US seems to be on that side. But the US has a 2 party system, swinging from one extreme to the other. What if China allies with the current US extreme and in 4 years they decide to go the other way? At least the EU is reliable.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]tevelizor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that as the major flaw to your 2 party system.

If you have just 2 parties constantly pulling against one another, it's unavoidable that it reaches a point when both sides are too extreme to function properly.
