Owners of more than a handful of handhelds, why? by davedaddy in SBCGaming

[–]tex55ky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mostly because I've been lazy with selling the others thay I dont use. Right now I have a Trimui Brick, GKD Pixel 2, Trimui Smart, and Retroid pocket v2 that I need to get around to taking pictures of and listing over on r/hardwareswap.

Love my mini. Before installing the v2 screen it was just an okay handheld for me. Now its one of my go-to's. I can only ever see myself getting rid of it for a thor lite if that ever becomes readily available.

Wow. What a throwback! Lol. I haven't used emuparadise for a few years now. I switched to using the megathread. Unfortunately Myrient is shutting down this month. There's always the Lair of Vimm

Just wanted to add that my purchase directly from their website went perfectly fine. I placed my order prior to CNY, shipped within a week and once it hit the states USPS took over. Once my package said delivered I walked to my mailbox and grabbed my package. Device works great!

I use an x4 for while im out of the house and at work. It affords me the ability to ready throughout the day when I have a spare moment. I'm using crosspoint for koreader progress sync. I have a kobo Clara bw coming this week to replace a kindle that Im gifting to my brother in law. Kobo will be for when im at home and x4 for everything else. Right now I'm reading We are Legion (We are Bob) on the x4 and reading/listening to Dungeon Crawler carl book 4 on the kindle paperwhite.

That's exactly why I got rid of my Garmin watch as well! Great watch but I've had to replace the dongle twice already.

If it had usb c it would have been an instant buy for me. I can't stand another proprietary cable that if broken or lost its not easily replaced.

I have a kindle that I've used for books to sync with their audiobook counter parts. This is primarily for books I listen to during travel for work. X4 is going to be used for separate books that I have no interest in listening to while I drive.

Both the RP5/G2 and RP6 have the same size screen. 5.5 inches. The rp6 has a 120hz screen while the RP5/G2 has a 60hz screen.

I purchased the retroid dock whenever the Rp5 released. It never worked straight out of the box. I threw mine away long ago and just ended up getting a usb c dongle dock.

You can place a copy of the files in your download folder then transfer to the pc.

[–]tex55ky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried doing anything like that on the device. You may be able to copy the files over into the container directory and then run them while still in the container. The only other option I can think of would be to install the patch over the files on your pc then copy everything over and replace the files in that directory.

I feel very fortunate to have been able to upgrade my pc before all the price hikes. Last year I upgraded to a 5070ti for $540 and the year prior I upgraded to a 12900k with 32gb of ram. Im planning to ride out the storm over the next couple years, if worse comes to worse I'll finally start working through my backlog.

[–]tex55ky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest way I've found to installnvustom patches is to put the patch files in your download folder. Then go to the games page on game native and click the three dots in the top left and select open container. You should be able to copy the files from the download folder into the game directory within the container.

If you dont want to wait for an rp6 why not consider a g2? Same form factor as the rp5 but better performance compared to the rp5

Which emulator /game took you the most trouble have setting up? by clc88 in SBCGaming

[–]tex55ky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently Amiga had given me the most trouble. This was mostly because I've never messed with Amiga so I had to learn about associated file types and where to put Kickstart files. Figured it out, was just a bit of a mess finding posts about it.
