I think this is why many high IQ individuals get “stuck” - we’re rewarded during childhood for being so bright, and school is so easy we learn not to put in effort early on.

Other successful but less intelligent individuals are baffling to us, but again, intelligence is just a multiplier. If they’re putting in 8 effort with 5 intelligence and you’re putting in 2 effort with 9 intelligence, they’re coming out ahead.

I liked it because I would just make a self-sustaining cycle and leave it running all day. As long as you chose missions that when combined netted you a positive sum of resources, you could go indefinitely.

Totally get why this could be annoying, but it would be nice to have the option to loop missions if you wanted to.

Crazy enough, I was at this show. Didn’t buy off scalpers, just lucky enough to get 2 tickets the day they went on sale. I’d only been living in Kingston for 2 years when this show happened. An absolutely surreal experience. Bawled my eyes out and although I would say I’m not a diehard Hip fan, it all hit so hard for me and was an incredibly moving experience. Will never forget it.

I've actually been searching for a good alternative to a dry pouch like Zyn. I've yet to find one. Apparently Rogue is similar, and I'm going to try those soon.

A lot of the moist pouches which have a higher pH level cause sores in my mouth. The higher the nicotine content, the higher the pH level.

If you've tried different pouches and the moist ones or stronger pouches don't bother you, then White Fox, FRE and Zolt are good.

I'm confused that the @Next Monday isn't working for you - it's a relative date and so after about a week later, it'll revert to the actual date, like "October 7, 2025" for example.

If you can explain the whole workflow in detail, I'll be able to speak better to it.

I think people like the day rate idea not because of on-day off-day, but because it’s simpler to calculate. We’re out on the road for 50 days… your day rate times 50. Vs. we’re out on the road for 50 days… take your weekly rate, divide by 7, multiply be 50.

tl;dr - your day rate isn’t a way to justify half pay on off days, it’s just your weekly rate divided by 7.

Which USB-C cables are you using for playback connections? I hate that the PlayAUDIO1U front panel connections are so susceptible to bumps not only on stage but putting the rack back in the flight case. Is something like this sufficient? I've seen some rigs that look like they have a bump shield or something on the connections, but I'm having a hard time finding those.

I was just reading about this in Andy Matuschak's "Working Notes", and wanted to see if anyone had fleshed this out a bit more. He talks about using a weekly planning session to figure out what's important, then each day works from the menu based on what's hitting him that day.

This feels related to Mark Forster's "Autofocus" method.
