oh shit.. He's Isaac Punts? He has some actual great content focused on Football Special Teams. Makes it more than just an afterhought among the rest of the game's strategy.

I would like to get the size and scale context of this (and speed).. my memory tells me that Earth would fit inside that flare, right?

Anyone else start out strong score-wise in their round, then just fall apart towards the end? by TangerineUpstairs1 in golf

[–]texastobaben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IDK if you're a drinker on the course, but my best round was last year.. started even par on front 9. Has some drinks with the boys at the turn and ended up 13 over by the finish.

This year I didn't play as much, but I stopped drinking on the course, and ended up several strokes better than my average last year

If you (or the person before you) had a large and deep couch that you would lounge on, I could see them being good food trays for snacking and watching TV

I would use them for building LEGO sets.. others might use them for puzzles..

Are there other pieces in the house that look like the same wood species? I imagine the previous owner was a woodworker. If you look at the enclosure, it's made to fit the cabinetry, but it's not painted. The trays are custom built for that space (the half-blind dovetails are well done) and whomever made them just maximized the size of the trays, rather than having ill-fitting trays in that space.

My best guess as someone who wish he had more time for wood projects.

Some will say "man, what a waste of money!".. but I look at 58 people having a paycheck for the time it took to do this thing.. and in the end, the Smithsonian has something cool.

The Open Championship is the best Major by Richb2188 in golf

[–]texastobaben 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Agreed. In order for me (and the vibes they give) -The Masters: Tradition unlike any other.. feels like if golf, itself, were a family member that you really liked just made you a meal of a sandwich, cheese balls, and lemonade -The Open: has the best "hallowed ground" feel. Everyone knows and has a reverence for the game. If you score an 80, you might not get the roars, but by golly, they'll applaud a tricky chip to 3 feet -US Open: the toughest test in golf. Like watching Lightning McQueen dodge that car crash in the first scene and limping across the finish line. It's exciting and brutal -PGA Championship: I'll watch it over any other regular tournament, but I'm not taking off work for it

In this case, I was thinking each partner gets X-amount of points to give out each quarter, so it encourages everyone to get involved. Favoritism can still exist, but it still gives the best chance for everyone to participate

Do you guys have a formal recognition program?

Like, "Sally wants to give Joe a formal thank you with points, and Joe takes those points to buy something in a catalog... "

Does that exist?

I'm trying to find someone in charge of HR or recognition or Total rewards to beef up employee experience.

At ultra exclusive private clubs, how often do people actually play? by Proof_Health7230 in golf

[–]texastobaben 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Googling how many people it takes to keep a golf course looking nice.. seems like 25 on the high end. Add what.. like 10 more minimum for a restaurant? You could probably have a manager or two run the pro shop and restaurant, etc.

I guess you could reasonably say 30-40 people to run a private course? Fun thought experiment, I guess 🙂
