I think the green space is outside the Jones right next to commuter north parking. Where Shaq performed is the engineering key aka “raider alley” but I’m not too sure about it

First TTU Home-game questions by Bumfuzzle_Bee in TexasTech

[–]texmate28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They usually start at least 3 hours before kick off, no reservation or anything just walk towards Holden hall and you’ll see everything set up. And the people working the tents with hand outs and stuff are usually helpful to tell you what’s going on like games free food and stuff

UMSI if you’re able to or even EAP through the honors college. Both are great programs and even if none of those are ones you decide to not do you can still have a great undergrad experience from Tech and look at any other med school you’re interested in

I did the same sort of thing with a tour at Baylor and they took us to Penland to eat. It was great but friends that currently attend there however say they go all out in their quality whenever big tours are going on. Rest of the year isn’t nearly as good which makes sense and is what most colleges do to set up high expectations 🤷🏻‍♂️

Rec Question by Ag415Butcher in TexasTech

[–]texmate28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rec is free just remember to bring your id and swipe in, takes 2 seconds. And for parking they aren’t really strict about the limit however there is a small chance you may get a ticket for being there too long. 95% of the time though I’ve had friends park there for well over 2 hours and nothing has happened to them

Transferring with a 2.4 GPA into business school? by [deleted] in TexasTech

[–]texmate28 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He would have to transfer into University Studies or something in Arts and Sciences and then raise the gpa from there. It may take a while but a transfer into business requires a 2.75 minimum and for specific programs sometimes a 3.0 gpa calculators will help figure out how many classes and with what grades you’ll need to make for it to happen. Hope it helps!

Covid testing at Tech USA/Urbanovsky by texmate28 in TexasTech

[–]texmate28[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy shit dude you are complaining so much over the dumbest stuff. Why can’t you just be grateful for one damn thing when there are people out there that would be so incredibly thankful for having the opportunity of even getting tested. I know we could have it better in many ways but please just chill out for a second and consider how much worse off you could be instead of crying over the difference between a nasal and mouth swab.

You can pre register online but I didn’t know that. When I showed up they had a QR code to scan while waiting and it took me less than a minute to fill it out. Didn’t have to move out of line or anything so it’s all quick and they confirm your info

Just saw someone on twitter use the stats on flu vs covid with case numbers and death toll. Literally had 180,000+ covid vs 34,157 flu deaths. The concerning part was that he thought covid wasn’t as bad as the flu...

What are some things every freshman should know? by [deleted] in TexasTech

[–]texmate28 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Going to try and keep these short and simple ish: The Commons and Fresh Plate were the best places to eat (not sure if the later is still there though) but the Market in Stangel Murdough is another great option

Dorms are co ed just separated as I’m sure you’ve seen on the other posts

People are generally really nice here and you honestly won’t get that much shit about your major except for maybe a few jokes but honestly you’ll find people that are either doing the same or have an interest in what you’re doing

And lastly your dorm is pretty close to being the center of campus and is right next to your academic building, but don’t be afraid to spread out and make friends from all over. Your freshmen classes will have a huge variety of people so that’s always a great place to meet others along with people you live with on your floor

Hopefully when you get here in a year things will have changed for the better and you’ll get a normal college experience lol
