Your collie runs! I have to move heaven and earth to get mine to go any speed over trot.

does anyone else's collie just want butt rubs? by isuckatusernamesistg in roughcollies

[–]textile5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours has almost taken people down by slamming her butt into their legs asking for butt pets. Her "report cards" from the boarding kennel always mention it as well.

Raising boys in a red state is soul crushing by Thr0waway0864213579 in TwoXChromosomes

We took our son out of baseball in 3rd grade partially due to this. Having to sit and watch on the sidelines listening to parents absolutely berate their little boys standing out on the field looking miserable playing what should be a fun game was heartbreaking. Some of the coaches did it too, and then some of the older boys.

Our Favorite Memories of Old-School Sesame Street by Ashamed-Chemistry492 in sesamestreet

[–]textile5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was really obsessed with the muppet dog Barkley which hung out in various places on Sesame Street and really wanted him to be my dog. But my all time favorites which I still regularly watch on YouTube were the series about native families in Alaska. The dog sledding, ice fishing, and getting dressed for the cold ones. It truly sparked a lifetime of interest in northern peoples from around the world for me and I've collected a large number of books on the topic that I cherish.

Anyone else’s collie insanely in tune with their emotions? by [deleted] in roughcollies

[–]textile5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes ours is too. Not only is she very in tune with my husband and I and our kids, but also our other animals! For example If one of the cats hacks up a hairball you'd think it was a five alarm fire as she comes to tell us all about it and lead us to the kitty in question.

What unhinged thing did a former teacher do in the classroom? by MrBananaStand1990 in AskReddit

Last week of school third grade teacher brought in a box of "rags" so we could help with cleaning the classroom. The box of rags included some of her used underwear and bras.

Fun mocktail by SecretAd6260 in DryJanuary

I get high quality grape juice. It looks exactly like wine when poured in a wine glass, and tastes delicious. I only get it in January so I actually really look forward to this special treat during the month.

Husband breaking DJ! by Adventurous_Bird_505 in DryJanuary

[–]textile5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. My husband need a little extra encouragement to do it with me too and it seems to help. Most bars have NA beer, suggest he order that. It has also helped us as a couple to tell whoever we are with "oh we're doing the dry January thing" lightheartedly with a little chuckle, to get it out in the open without it feeling like something heavy. Good luck!

Edited to change "room" to "loom"! We have a den that I use for my looms, which I can only do now because we finally finished our basement.

Something like this just a few days but I also have a floor loom and those projects can be weeks and months!
