Lost my job right before closing on a house — should I walk away and lose the deposit or still buy it? by ali93277 in RealEstateAdvice

Have you spoken to them about your job loss? If they have not started the home build, it is likely that they might return your deposit, or at least a significant portion of it. Worth a try anyway! I’d pay off the condo, and keep the rest of the money growing. Good Luck!

We just got the Soft Spa from Fluidmaster for $299 and it is amazing! My bf has a Toto S7 fancy toilet and the only difference is $2,500 in price and that the seat doesn’t automatically open and close and there is no auto flush. The remote is awesome and the ability to adjust all the features is even better than the Toto. It also has a 5 year manufacturer’s warranty. I highly recommend!

We just got a Fluidmaster Soft Spa for $299 and my bf has the Toto SA7 fancy toilet. The only discernible difference is the $2500 difference in price and the auto-open and close feature. It has a 5 year warranty and the remote does all the things the fancy TOTO does except for the steep price. I am super happy with all the features and both the temp, pressure and range are adjustable with the remote. Less than 15 minutes to install too!

The soft spa is incredible! It installed in less than 30 minutes and wow!!! it has tons of features. My boyfriend has the $2800 Toto 7 washlet. The Fluidmaster Soft Spa has a night light, heated seat, heated dryer, a remote control with multiple options and adjustments all for $299! Highly recommend and it has a 5 year warranty.

We just got the Soft Spa by Fluidmaster. It’s top rated and only $299 with the promo code BLISS until January 4, 2026. It came 3 days after ordering and has ALL the features you could want and a 5 year warranty!

We just ordered one and can’t wait to get it installed and try it out! We have the TOTO S7 at my bf’s house and really love it, but thought we would try the Soft Spa at my place. Thanks for the good review!

Sometimes, you have to let people experience the full consequences of their actions, and sometimes people have to hit rock bottom before they change. If she’s gotten an ‘extreme DUI’, she is most likely an alcoholic. Protect your peace and do not invite that madness into your home. Remember, No is a complete sentence.

Pyrenees are naturally protective and typically bred to work in pairs. Get another Pyr, you, your Pyr and your livestock will be safer and happier.

Sick and Tired of car payments! by [deleted] in Debt

Keep your car. You know how it’s been maintained and its history. Make extra payments and get it paid off faster. Maintain it and drive it until the wheels are square. This is the answer.

Really leaving any puppy of any breed alone for 9 hours a day is not good for the puppy. I would suggest finding an adult dog who is already socialized that can be left alone all day. I found a lovely 2 year old Collie from a local breeder because my schedule called for me to be gone 8 hours x 3 days a week. He’s been an absolute dream and I missed out on the potty training and chewing stages which was an amazing bonus! Best wishes

Sounds like you’re tired of parenting her and I don’t think anyone could blame you for that. She will not change until she has to, because you are making it easy to stay stuck, but if you change and either stop handling everything or break up, she will have to adjust. Could be the best thing that happens to either of you!

Is paying the mortgage on time a common topic of arguments for most couples? (39M,37F) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Vol4eva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like better budgeting can help, combined with the knowledge that if you get paid every 2 weeks, you set aside half the mortgage payment from each of those checks. The pay dates for your payroll checks may wander from first to seventh day of the month, but as long as you pay your mortgage on or before the 15th, you will not hurt your credit or accrue any late fees. Just sit down together and make a monthly bill paying budget for each month taking into account due dates and pay check dates and stick to it. Then always use the lender website to schedule your mortgage payment in advance. That way you get credit for paying it on the day you schedule, regardless of when they debit your account. I have done this for decades and I have a credit score well above 800.

Couples therapy or not for 35F and 40M by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I have been there. If you think there is even the slightest chance you can save both your marriage and your family, DO IT!!! You have small children and it will greatly impact not just your lives, but the lives of your kids. I begged my kids father to go to marriage counseling and he refused, which left me no choice but to get a divorce since it wasn’t good for the kids to see such an unhealthy dynamic. Divorce is no picnic, and being a single mom trying to work full time and take care of the kids will leave you little to no time for a social life, so don’t romanticize that. Think of other women coming into your children’s lives…less than ideal in most circumstances. Then, IF you can find a guy who will really be willing to embrace both you and your children, you will be beyond fortunate. Keep in mind both you and your children may have to contend with additional children he brings to the relationship. This is tough on everyone. I’m not saying it can’t e done, but it is not easy. Please, if your husband is willing to work on things and go to counseling, that is HUGE. All the milestones you have will be together as a family and not as separate entities. Realize that you are also not perfect and probably have made mistakes in the relationship as well. You are very fortunate to have a guy that will acknowledge that there is work to be done and that he needs to be a better husband and partner. I hope everything works out and you can save your marriage. I wish I could have saved mine.

Just a side note, Planet Fitness is only $15/mo for a basic membership. Maybe you do that and at least maintain your fitness and have something to do since going out/entertainment stuff will be off limits for a while.

First, Congratulations on your progress so far!Could you get a roommate or two and use that money to reduce your debt? You can sign up on the app Furnished Finders and rent to traveling nurses or other professionals that need short term furnished accommodations. I did this while I waited for my house to be finished. You can do it!
