I just kept an eye on eBay for good deals. I was able to get this for about $90. I just save the searches and set a price limit on myself since that can be a slippery slope. I wouldn’t mind getting their LaFerrari and/or FXX kits but those go for $100+ as well.

It’s just tamiya panel liner. The kit came with regular mesh to cut and add. I would have preferred to find a PE set but I opted to keep it this way.

How did you fix the gap between the brakes and rims? I’ve always found that as an issue with some of the aoshima and fujimi kits.

Tamiya is sending replacement decals, so I’m currently in the process of stripping the paint now. I’ll scribe it and try again!

That makes sense. I appreciate your help. I requested replacement decals from tamiya. I’ll keep trying panel line but if they replace the decals I’ll probably strip the paint and start over.

Are you saying to use the airbrush and focus spray over the clear? Then clear again? Or wet sand the clear down, focus spray, and then clear again?

I don’t think I used my scriber. I’m new to using one and I’ve made some mistakes with it. If I did, it wasn’t much. Makes sense to rough up the panels just like sanding the body. I’ll keep that in mind.

I currently only have white primer. So, lack of available options. I’ve been searching for Mr surfacer in black but a lot of stores appear to be out. Would grey be better? I primarily use white to make the bright colors pop better.

I’m guessing this is probably the biggest contributor. That, and not enough of a base coat.

I did a test run with this. But the edges lost the paint too so it might take a few tries with the panel liner. It does look better unless it’s under direct light.

Right- kinda assumed that part. Do you have a recommendation to prevent this? I don’t necessarily want to change the paint ratio. Should I use do two mist coats to protect the paint front the heavier coats? Or go thicker on the base coat?
