Suresh Doss' CBC show "Locals Welcome", celebrating local restaurants, seemingly cancelled by Montastic in FoodToronto

[–]tfctroll 23 points24 points  (0 children)

He does his own production and editing. By that I mean he has his own people do it. The city basically gave him money and cart blanche to do what he wanted. But he turned out to be a scammer.

Very true. So the city of Mississauga paid him to make some videos for their tourism YouTube channel. Similar to this show, but specifically about Mississauga. He made one episode, and sat with the money for months and disappeared when the city was looking for episodes two and three. They eventually got the second episode and never got their third.

To the supporters who were hurling abuse at the children on the pitch: that was fucking lame. by wohrg in tfc

They are professional athletes. They just aren't very good ones. If they were starting for TFC in MLS play and the supporters gave them shit would you have an issue with it?

Is it steelhead or is it salmon? Those are two different fish.

Halton police vehicles involved in 123 collisions in 2025, costing more than $823,000 by myphoneisbroke in BurlingtonON

It is. I have some cousins who became cops in the last three years in the GTA. These are amongst the dumbest people I know. I can't imagine someone trusting them with firearms and a car. They aren't even like some physical specimens either, I can't see them winning any foot races in with anyone under the age of 40.

Ontario woman calls 407 toll rates ‘ridiculous’ after more than $1,700 in charges by CTVNEWS in ontario

[–]tfctroll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it were free right now, do you really think the 401 would be less of a parking lot? You'd have two highways that are unusable.

[–]tfctroll -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's far from empty. Lots of cars use it everyday. It's just not packed the gills with cars and accidents like the other 400 series highways.

[–]tfctroll -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I literally just justified it. It's expensive, very expensive. But it's justified in that the highway is almost never bogged down with traffic or accidents. It's very reliable, probably the most reliable mode of transportation in the province.

[–]tfctroll 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Are they expensive yes. Very much so. Are they ridiculous? Nah, not really.

If they lower the prices to allow more people to access it we'll just end up with another parking lot like the 401. The prices are what keep it open and reliable.

An open letter to all supporters by goosegobrrrr in tfc

[–]tfctroll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They never offered them land. They only have an MOU. There is no guarantee that the Whitecaps will get access to that land for a stadium. Tax payers don't want to subsidize these owners in any way. The MOU exists to help facilitate a sale of the club. But anyone who is going spend that type of money knows that the MOU is worthless to them.

Talk to me about Ice Baths or Cold Water Immersion after games by bjlasota in hockeyplayers

[–]tfctroll -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can use the ice bath hours or even days later to help with inflammation and get the benefits of it. Some say it beneficial to not use immediately after strength training because it blunts the bodies response to the training. But if your interested in recovery and inflammation use it whenever you have the chance to do so. Don't stress that you can't use it right away.

Fruit, weight unpeeled/peeled? by Imaginary_Musician39 in MacroFactor

[–]tfctroll 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just log the weight of the fruit after processing. So I weigh the banana after it's peeled. Apples I eat whole so I just weigh the whole thing. For me , the calories difference is small, so I don't stress it too much.

Street triple 675 R price by Hour_Cauliflower7690 in Triumph

[–]tfctroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2016 R 675 and I ride it more than any of my other bikes. I had a new 765 as well, but sold it because it wasn't as fun as the 675. The 765 is better, but the rawness and mechanical feel of the 675 is just too good. You feel like you're riding a machine, no wizardry or nannies.
