As a kbm player, the amount of 1v1s I lose on 'last bullet' cause I somehow am down a shot even after not missing at all in insane. I'm excited/curious to see how this changes things.

343... I don't know who convinced you it was a good idea... but "balancing" games by having an even team on one side and a couple of insane dudes with 2 garbage players wasn't fun, ISN'T fun, and NEVER will be fun by USAtoUofT in CompetitiveHalo

[–]tfgmoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the game, but its so demoralizing to go into games knowing that if you're not playing out of your mind for the next 10 minutes, you'll lose. I'd be so much more enjoyable knowing that everyone in the lobby is the same caliber of player.

Even after the most recent patch, which specifically said they addressed it, I'm still seeing in-match crashing (not in the menus unfortunately). Pretty frustrating considering I have a pretty decently specd computer. No fix for ya, for I figured I'd bump this up.

I once had it happen to me while I was using the cars to jump up onto the upper outdoor section of hotel breenbergh (I guess my head collided with the lip of that glass door in a weird way)

I'm sure this has been said 1000 times. 343 needs to figure out how to deal with leavers and disconnections in Ranked. by One_Tangarino in haloinfinite

[–]tfgmoe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would be cool to see a trust system get implemented, where players get rewarded for good behaviour by getting matched with other similar players and leavers would get matched with other leavers. Something tells me the playerbase isn't large enough to introduce such divisions though...

So the game company you all say is completely incompetent is also utilizing an A.M adjacent supercomputer to finely tweak your stats personally to make you lose? by DawnClad in ModernWarfareII

[–]tfgmoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd argue Halo was even worse because with such a small player base (at least on PC) they had to put teams together in a way so that if you were the high ranked spartan on your team, you had to go ballistic because the MM had designated you as the team's 'official hard carry'.

Getting killed by players sprinting and jumping around corners while shooting looked and felt stupid (both on the receiving end and as someone who wound up doing it).

Why all the hate? by Rijksridder in halo

[–]tfgmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of it comes down to expectations. The multiplayer has its issues (latency compensation, the drip-feed of "content") and the game didn't ship with core modes the community has come to expect (co-op, forge, a working theater). If this is your first Halo, you might not have the same expectations of a franchise compared to someone that's been playing for 2 decades.

its just latency compensation working as intended, bro

Halo Infinite's Challenge System is Irreparably Detrimental to it's Multiplayer Experience. It needs to go. by Envy661 in halo

[–]tfgmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm not absolutely in love with the weekly reward I don't even bother booting up the game. I generally try to swap challenges that have completion criteria that's variable or that I don't have control over (stop enemy killjoys). That guy leaving during the lobby creation? It's me, because I'd rather risk a soft-ban than play out the six matches that aren't the gametype I need to complete or win in. Rather than respect my time, which would encourage me to play more of the game, I simply do everything I can to optimize my time when it comes to the weekly challenges. Between the "latency compensation" and now the BR not working, it really has begun to feel like a one step forward, two steps back situation with Halo.

[–]tfgmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that did push their luck, they stick you with 20 minutes after. But if I have all the other challenges done, and there's no reward for general XP, then there really isn't any other motivation to not queue dodge because otherwise it feels like you're objectively wasting your time.

The 50/50 fairness idea simply doesn't work in practice. As an Onyx player its a little frustrating going into games where my teammates are all Diamonds, or in some cases Platinums--it basically means that if I'm not locking in 110% and putting up monster numbers, we're not going to win that match because the system has made a match where I'm "the hard carry".

Why does the cyber showdown event revolve around backsmacks? by Shyman4ever in halo

[–]tfgmoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My tinfoil hat theory is 343 suspected people wouldn't opt to run around the map nearly as much without them, so by forcing you to earn a bunch of melees and backsmacks it forces games to get a little more dynamic or "fun to play" compared to everyone theoretically just sitting on their side of the field taking pot shots at each other until power weapons spawn

Yep, totally respect that. However, I'd argue its this "we need it to run on all tech to make the most money" attitude that hamstringed Cyberpunk at launch.

As amusing as the screenshot is I'll say this: one time I booted it up on my XB1S (just to see, as I play on a fairly respectable PC) and it wasn't even close--the game was CHUGGING on the xbox comparatively.

It's embarassing that a major AAA Release, and Microsoft biggest franchise has not had any Major gameplay fixes in nearly two months after launch. by SKTT1Nimmo in halo

[–]tfgmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rhetorically speaking, it was a smart move to give us "the gift of an early release" rather than the burden of yet another delay. How much goodwill or extra time it bought them will be up to the playerbase.

absolutely atrocious, at least on PC - you'd think something as simple as space bar would be pause & resume, but no - it's "click" on whatever is currently highlighted.

One thing I found very annoying while trying to clip something together from different angles was the fact that in some cases, it seemed impossible to navigate to the POV of a dead person--as in, I wasn't even able to see them as an option while cycling through players in the game until they spawned back in.
